SEA!
HAWKS!
SEA!
HAWKS!

GROUP!
THERAPY!
GROUP---wait a second.

Group Therapy is cool, but this just doesn’t have the same feeling as chanting “Seahawks!” It’s a great time to be a citizen of Seattle, and a football fan to boot! The bird is the word, folks! We did it! The Lombardi Trophy goes to the Emerald City, baby!

You must be wondering how this all ties into Group Therapy…

A very excited Seahawks fan named Travis reached out for some help, because his wife doesn’t understand why he has a serious case of post-Super Bowl euphoria. Travis contacted us in the hope that his wife, who rides in the car with him in the morning, would hear some testimonials from his fellow 12s and Rock-A-Holics and maybe that would help her start to see why his love of football – and a Seattle victory – are so important.

Everyone is passionate about something. It doesn’t matter if your thing is sports, or cars, or Doctor Who, or salsa dancing. We love what we love, but it’s not always that easy to make others see the appeal of our particular passions if they don’t understand them firsthand.

I’m not sure if anyone convinced the wife that this is a big deal, but we always try our best to help. At the very least, maybe Travis’s wife can appreciate the sense of hometown pride that comes along with a Super Bowl win for the local boys.

Speak with the voice of the 12th Man, and give me your best defense of Travis’s position!

It isn't just about the Football
Dear wife please understand that it isn't just football, it is about our City, our beloved Seattle that struggled all these years seeing everybody else having fun while we were always dying on the beach after a long swim, let me try to explain in a fashion you will understand. Let's say that Prada will grant you one year of Free shoes and purses, and clothing, and a Limo to take you to work and bring you back, and this limo is driven by Brad Pitt, that is what we feel about this Super Bowl, it is about our city, our community, our team, and a level of companionship that we men share, that women for many years try to understand and never will. It just occurred to me that you women love to brag about sensibility, yet you struggle to understand what is important to him, to us men, but we do have to understand you guys better right? Why don't you try some of your own medicine. Practice what you preach right BJ and Rockaholics!! Help me with this will ya!!

I don't give a funk
So long as they (the Proles) continued to work and breed, their other activities were without importance. Left to themselves, like cattle turned loose upon the plains of Argentina, they had reverted to a style of life that appeared to be natural to them, a sort of ancestral pattern...Heavy physical work, the care of home and children, petty quarrels with neighbors, films, football, beer and above all, gambling filled up the horizon of their minds. To keep them in control was not difficult. George Orwell To summarize. There is much more important things going on than giving a f*** about what some over payed athletes do. "WE" didn't win anything. To add some perspective http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2fraSdN-PG8

Why I'm a Seahawks fan...
I live in Charlotte, NC- yes, I was at the game Week 1; KING5 shot a quick promo of us by the Vistor's tunnel, and if you see it, I'm on the far left wearing the full Reebok Lofa Tatupu uniform. Anyways, during the 2010 season I was living in Fayetteville, NC (I was in the Army at Ft. Bragg at the time). At one point I started suffering from major depression. NOTHING was fun anymore, video games, "adult fun," tv, music, nothing. But I noticed I kept checking back to see what the scores were for the Seahawks, and I had no idea why. Eventually I just said "why not," bought a jersey & started going to watch the games at Buffalo Wild Wings. Eventually I got hooked & fell in love with the game. I bought a copy of Madden, read every book & news article I could find and spoke with anyone I could who was either a fan or who had played the game at some point, all to teach myself about it. By the end of the season (the year we beat the Saints in the Wild Card round & set off the Beast Mode earthquake), I could hold my own in any football discussion as far as tactics, strategy and personnel decisions. It's been that way ever since, and everyone I know is well aware of the fact that a) even though I didn't grow up there (that would be Va. Beach, Va), I claim Seattle as my home, and b) I'm a diehard Seahawks fan, even though I got to the party late. But why the Seahawks? Well, I was stationed at Lewis in '95 & was there off & on for the better part of 8 years, during which I fell in love with the city. When I "discovered" football, I had no local team to ascribe loyalty to, since I couldn't stand the Redskins (my dad's from Dallas) and even though I live here, I hate the Carolinas (and all other states in "The South"). So since I've claimed Seattle as my home since 1995, it stood to reason that the Seahawks would be my team. I'm vert glad I did this, because what the Niners were to the 80's, the Cowboys were to the 90's and the Pats were the last decade, we have every reason to anticipate doing in the next few years. That said, I trust John Schneider & Pete Carroll, but I sincerely hope they let Michael Bennett go in FA and snap up Michael Sam with the first pick. Let the other 31 teams kick themselves for letting "conventional wisdom" interfere with common sense & fair play. And Sam can do in '14 what RW3 did in '12; make everyone else regret passing on him.
