Yesterday on the show, we read a story about how this generation is raising kids that really got under my skin. In Delaware, three day care employees have been accused of encouraging toddlers at the day care to fight each other while they were taking care of them. The employees, 19-year-old Tiana Harris, 47-year-old Lisa Parker, and Estefania Myers, 21, of the Hands of Our Future Daycare were arrested after a cell phone video emerged of them allegedly encouraging two 3-year-olds to fight in an organized battle. Police said in the video one child is heard yelling, "He’s pinching me!" A day care worker allegedly responded, "No pinching, only punching." I know that this isn’t the case for every day care but these people were leaving their children in the hands of miserable human beings! We are living in a generation where most people don’t even take care of their own children full time; they rely on the day care system. The reason why day care use has seem to have gone up over the years is because parents have to work two jobs just to make ends meet and support the kids. Back in the day, one parent stayed home to take care of the kids just to make sure they grew up with your own values and have all the attention they need. If you can’t support the number of kids you have or want with just one income, then should you really have kids? Is it fair to them to have to be put in a game of “Day Care Roulette?” Would you rather stay at home and take care of your kids while your spouse works or is it more true that you don’t want to really parent you kid…you just want another trophy, another object, another plaything you can enjoy. Agreed

It took a year of hard work and some sacrifices by both of us but I'd rather have a few hundred dollars less a month and have my wife raise my kids than have extra cash and not know my kids are being taken care of. At ages 4 & 5 I can totally see the differance in kids who are home with a parent and have both parents together vs kids who have a divorce situation and being raised by someone who only cares about a paycheck. Step up take charge of your life and get home there is always a choice!

Hell yes

I work my wife stays home we have two beautiful children and it is vary difficult. My wives parents are much cooler than mine and the lend a hand when we need it. my wife and I totally agree BJ we want to raise our kids not anyone else. They are not trophies they are our creations and our responsibility. It's our job to learn them things and bring them up righ t...... o by the way ever notice people who dont raise there kids and have some one else do it seam to be the ones with little or no control over there spawn and cant seam to figure out why... Just sayin

agreed!!!

We are about to have a child of our own. I refuse to leave my daughter in the hands of a stranger. Unfortunately, i don't make enough working at Walmart to support me, my future husband, and our daughter, other wise i would just leave him at home with her. So to solve or issue, he is going to work overnights at Walmart while i stay on days. we figure a little less sleep will be better than leaving our baby girl with a stranger. If were in desperate need, we have a lot of family in the area, anyways. But even so, i want my daughter to have good morals and values. She shouldn't have to learn those from someone other than her own mother and father.

I wish I was stay at home

Being a new father of a now 9 week old girl, daycare is a big emotional subject for me. She just started this week, and it is really hard to have to take my little girl in the mornings and hand her off to someone I don't know. My wife and I are both active duty Navy, so we have no choice in the matter of daycare, being that we aren't stationed near family. We've both agreed that one of us is getting out when our enlistments run out, so that we can have a parent at home, attending to our child as need be. I really hope nothing like this happens at the daycare we use, because it is just plain wrong.

Refreshing view!

As a stay-at-home mom, it's so refreshing to see that there are people out there who do value the commitment it takes to stay at home and raise kids. It's just like any job, it's hard work and very rewarding. It makes me sad seeing momssearch for daycares for their babies when they can clearly afford to stay home. If one doesn't want to raise their kids, they shouldn't have them! Nobody can love my kids the way I do! I absolutely wouldn't do it any other way.
