BJ'S BLOG 11/09/11 "One Strike"
If you’ve been following Seattle’s local news, you have probably heard of the 2-year-old Bellevue who has been missing since Sunday November 6th.
According to the boy’s mother, Julia Valeria Biryukova, she was driving little 2-year-old Sky Metalwala to the hospital because he wasn’t feeling well when her car ran out of gas. Julia says she decided to leave her son alone in the unlocked car to sleep while she took her 4-year-old daughter to the gas station to call a friend and when she returned, Sky was gone.
Surprisingly, this isn’t the first time baby Sky was left in a car unattended. Solomon Metalwala, Sky’s father, was charged back in 2009 for leaving Sky in 27 degree weather to go shopping!
Solomon has said he hasn’t seen his kids in months due to a messy divorce and a restraining order Julia has on him.
Luckily, their 4-year-old daughter is now under protective custody.
I’ve been watching the news coverage on this and both parents sound like complete sheds. It’s horrible that these poor children have to go through all this between the divorce and just having idiot parents.
I don’t know how anyone would let these two geniuses, keep their kids after leaving their baby unattended in a car when it’s below freezing outside! How does the DSHS let this happen? Are our adoption/foster care systems that bad that we would rather return the kids back to their stupid parents?
After that first incident, I don’t see why anyone would let them keep the kids at all! It should be a one strike you’re out policy when it comes to morons doing stupid things to their children!
Don’t these kids have any rights? If we really care about children, there should be a zero tolerance, one strike you’re out policy so that bad things don’t happen like this again. I hope they find little Sky and that they keep him far away from the mother who thought it was ok to leave him alone in the first place.
As a former foster kid, I can’t stand it when idiots are still allowed to raise their kids because it never ends well.
