Day 846 (10/23/09) Happy 10 Years BJ!
Today was a special day for BJ, as tonight we celebrate BJ being on air in Seattle for 10 years now. BJ started the show off a little nostalgic, as he talked about how special it Growing up as a kid he “Wasn’t popular, adopted,” and listened to Charles Laquidara on the radio & idolized the guy…and realized that was what BJ wanted to do. Check out Charles’s website here: http://www.bigmattress.com/
Later on that morning we surprised BJ by having Charles Laquidara on the show...it was awesome to see BJ's shocked look on his face when Charles was on the phone!
We hope to see all of you tonight at 7 PM at The Snoqualmie Casino for our 10 Year Anniversary party!!! Go to www.snocasino.com for more info.
We played BJ’s interview that he did with Charles back when BJ was still a teenager, working at TJ MAXX, and BJ chatted with Charles for a school project. Charles basically goofed on BJ, but BJ realized that it didn’t matter he was the “butt of the joke” so long as it was entertaining. Hmmmm…that seems to be the mantra for our show…as all of us are the “butt of the joke” at some point on air. You should listen to the 6'er hour to hear the interview BJ did with Charles…it’s an awesome chat.
Today’s Out Pick Lil’ Mick was priceless as Double B was in hilarious form while making picks with his big brother Little Mickey. At one point, while Lil’ mick was goofing on Topshelf for being a Steelers fan…Double B called Topshelf “Potshelf” -- mind you Double B is 2 years old. Hey POTTY!!!!!!
Huge thanks to Brother Wease for calling in this morning for giving love to BJ for 10 years in Seattle. Many years ago, BJ was Wease's sidekick in Rochester NY & attributes all of his success to Wease as he truly did learn from the best!
Thanks to Aaron for hipping us to this game:
Ok Steve -- I’m not sure if you guys have covered this or not but now I feel that I have seen it all someone made a online game of Falcon Heene and the balloon... so here is a link to a story and the website of the game itself..

Gay Leon wrote a poem for BJ based on his 10 year Anniversary:
As my gift to you on your 10 years of success I submit the following poem.
Happy anniversary bj it's been 10 long years, can you believe it has lasted this long?
In celebration of your fabulous day, I'm wearing my home made KISW thong.
From Toppy's great laugh, to The Rev's passing gas, or Nicks seductive monotone.
It's all been great, but sometimes weird, like when Double R texts me to say his wife isn't home.
So onward tonigt to the snoqualmie casino, to be congraulated on all of your fame.
I'd love to be there, truly I would, but I've got a D&D game.
So after the party come down to Puyallup, you could say hi to Awesome.
Because on a night like tonight, why stay at home, and limit yourself to a twosome.
So for your own comfort bring over a rock girl, I'll even let you choose her.
But if you can find one willing, then bring someone just as hot, like the sexy Steve The Producer.
Kisses and hugs,
Gay Leon
Finally, the show ended with us having our dawg Ricker in studio...today is his last day on air on KISW, as he is leaving us for new opportunities. I recall one random night many years ago...way before we were working together on The Rock, Ricker & I ran into each other at a bar in Queen Anne...did some shots, and a bunch of us took the party back to my old apartment in Queen Anne...we wound up kicking it...listening to Metallica's Kill Em' All...B.S.'ing about how awesome that disc is. I know it's a lame story, but it stuck with me because I realized how good of a dude Ricker is. It's been a pleasure working with the guy, and I only wish him the best in what he does in the future, as I know he will be successful!
Today’s Video Blog is footage taped from last nights New Originals practice.
