As you may have heard by now, we have unveiled a new holiday tradition for us metal heads....
Death Metal December!
So just what is "Death Metal December?"
Simply put, some of us just aren't into all that holiday cheer they're selling at the shopping mall. While we're certainly not hatin' on anyone's good time, as I certainly love getting free crap and seeing my family while consuming large amounts of egg nog, it's time that we take back this month and claim it as our own. Besides, decking the halls is cool and all, but slamming down a few beers and headbanging to some classic Cannibal Corpse sounds about ten times better. Amirite? So here's the deal! Every week during the month of December, we will be playing an entire 30 minutes of straight death metal, from classic bands like Obituary, Death and Deicide, to new up-and-comers like Fleshgod Apocalypse. Death Metal December airs at 11:30 each week. Prepare to be devastated.
Still, we understand that there's a fair amount of that holiday cheer stuff hidden deep within the ashy souls of many metal heads, so we've made it a point to play one Christmas themed metal song each week during the month of December. This week's was too damn good to be true. In 2007, local band I Declare War recording a short EP titled "Bring The Season." Here's their extremely brutal rendition of "Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer." Fun for the whole family!
Chances are, your only hope to hear this song played live this year is next Saturday, December 18th at El Corazon with I Declare War, 7 Horns 7 Eyes and Cascabel. Visit www.elcorazonseattle.com for more info.
