Can you believe it? Ozzy made it to 65! We celebrate his birthday with a special Sit N Spin featuring our favorite Ozzy and Black Sabbath songs!
What does Ozzy want for his birthday?
Ozzy Osbourne is marking his 65th birthday by asking his fans to make a donation to the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, based in England, because "they make life better for people with cancer." To make a donation log onto JustGiving.com/My-Birthday.
Ozzy knows all to well about cancer as his wife Sharon is a cancer survivor, and his Black Sabbath bandmate, Tony Iommi, is being treated for lymphoma.
Don't forget tonight starting at 6:20 I'll be playing tribute to Ozzy with a block of his music! Let me know what you would like to hear Jolene@kisw.com Thanks!
Who's ready for a Pearl Jam haircut Friday night???
PEARL JAM: A Lightning Cut Pearl Jam took their encore to a new, bizarre level Saturday night.
During their set in Spokane, Washington Eddie Vedder mentioned that a guy had a sign saying he wanted the band to shave his dreadlocks. Five songs into their encore Vedder brought the dreadlocked fan on stage. The fan requested the band play "Brain of J" fromYield so he'd have one more song to whip his hair around to. In the middle of the song Vedder grabbed the shears and started cutting away the dreads. After the song was over the band broke into an instrumental jam so Vedder could finish playing barber.
Aw Jake . E Lee! Was wondering not too long ago what he was up to!
Onetime Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Jake E. Lee's new band, Red Dragon Cartel, will release a self-titled debut album on January 28th. It's the latest in a series of bands Lee has had since leaving Ozzy's employ in 1987. He joined Osbourne in '82, following Randy Rhoads' death in a plane crash.
The new quartet's lineup also includes singer D.J. Smith, bassist Ronnie Mancuso and drummer Jonas Fairley. They're helped out on the album by such special guests as original Iron Maiden vocalist Paul Di'Anno, Robin Zander of Cheap Trick, Maria Brinkof In This Moment, Sass Jordan, bassist Rex Brown of Pantera and Todd Kearnsand Brent Fitz from Slash's band, The Conspirators.
Red Dragon Cartel plan to tour extensively after the album release, and currently have four western dates booked for December -- the Whisky a Go Go in L.A. on the 12th; supporting Queensryche at the Marquee Theater in Tempe, Arizona on the 14th; Brick by Brick in San Diego on the 15th and Count's Vamp'd in Las Vegas on the 20th.
LED ZEPPELIN: Page Mashes Up Zep With...Notorious B.I.G.
Jimmy Page has created a mashup of songs by Led Zeppelin and the late rapper The Notorious B.I.G.
It's titled ‘Ramblize’ and features Biggie's rap from "Hypnotize" over Page's acoustic guitar from "Ramble On." Page also throws in occasional Robert Plant vocal samples from the Zep song. It's not the first time Page has combined Zeppelin with hip-hop -- he previously reworked his "Kashmir" guitar riffs for Puff Daddy's "Come With Me," a Top 5 hit in 1988.
"Ramblize" can be heard at Page’s Soundcloud page.

The partially animated clip for the band's "Come a Little Closer" debuted online on Tuesday, and it features extensive artwork done by Shultz. Check out the clip on YouTube now.

VAN HALEN: Bring Peace to the Middle East
Could Van Halen bring peace to the entire world?
According to the creators of South Park, they definitely can. Wednesday night's episode, called "Ginger Cow," closed with Jews, Muslims and Christians finally coming together in total harmony in Israel. All the various symbols of the religions then morph together into the Van Halen logo, and the group appears on stage to perform "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love."
So wrong and yet so right…..check out the clip below. (The original was yanked off (heh) but I found this, you get the idea.)
