Rolling Stones 50 Years baby!!
Rolling Stones 50 Years baby!!

To be one of the most important rock bands of all time and last 50 years!  Yea, you go ahead and update that logo whenever you like Mick and company.

Rumors everywhere that the Stones are considering a commemorative tour.  Stories earlier this year leaned that there may be one or two shows only.

What I do know is that the Stones will meet next month and talk about some live shows and a possible new album.

To celebrate how about a special fat, juicy lipped playlist of Rolling Stones jams!!

Got your dueling AC/DC fiddlers right here!!
Dueling AC/DC fiddlers!!

While we wait for AC/DC to decide when they will record again, they've posted a unique rendition of two of their classic songs on their website. It's The Dueling Fiddlers doing "Back in Black" with a little bit of "Thunderstruck" mixed in.

Not bad ehh?  What song would you fiddle if you could?

Axl takes a fall. But who hasn't?
Axl takes a fall!

So all Axl Roseness aside the guy did pop back up and didn't miss a beat on the song.  Maybe I'm a little kinder because I've fell more times than I care to admit.  When was your most embarassing fall in front of people?

Sit N Spin Rolling Stones turn 50!!!

Here is the latest news on the bands future.

Keith Richards says The Rolling Stones have a meeting scheduled for next month in London, possibly to discuss a one-off show this year. Last month, Ronnie Wood said he was told to keep October and November open for some possible work. Shortly thereafter, we reported exclusively that the band had gathered in a New Jersey studio in April to rehearse for a week. And now comes word of this meeting. Richards says, "It's all very hush-hush," adding that he'll "find out more then."

But a new album still looks to be a ways off. Richards says, "I'd love to get some tracks down and see what songs we've got. And that goes along with part of getting the band back together and getting things moving. So I'd love to cut some tracks, yeah."

The New Jersey rehearsals were filmed for a documentary on the Stones' 50 years.

For the complete story from Rolling Stone check out the article!

Aerosmith baby!!
Aerosmith baby!!

Aerosmith started their Global Warming Tour Saturday night in Minneapolis with a sold-out show in front of 14-thousand at the Target Center. Flashes of light were projected on a video screen stretching the width of the stage as a voice said, "We can control your minds. We can control your emotions. Now's the time to submit quietly. We control all you hear and feel. You are about to enter a great adventure and experience awe and mystery -- from your ultimate fantasies to your deepest fears from which you will never return."

The band then launched into "Draw the Line," with Steven Tyler and Joe Perry on a ramp extended into the audience. That was followed by 18 more songs, including such rarities as "S.O.S. (Too Bad)" (from Get Your Wings) and "Combination," with Perry on vocals, from Rocks. They also did "Legendary Child" and "Oh Yeah," which will be on Music From Another Dimension when it is released August 28th.

The tour, with Cheap Trick opening, moves to Cleveland Tuesday night. It runs through August 8th in Tacoma, Washington.

Sit N Spin Torture Songs
Sit N Spin Torture songs!

Below is the full story on today's SIS list.

A new documentary called “Songs of War” says the U.S. military tortured prisoners in

Guantanamo Bay by repeating the same songs at 100 decibels for up to two hours.

That’s about as loud as a chainsaw or a jackhammer.

Granted, this is from the hard-hitting journalists over at Al Jazeera and

U.S. policy ALLOWS the military to do it for up to two hours . . .

although the documentary claims they did it for much longer than that.

Whether you think it’s torture or not, some of the songs they used would drive

ANYONE crazy.

Check out the 13 songs on the list . . .

#1.) The theme song from “Sesame Street”. One of the show’s music composers said he was, quote, “horrified and fascinated” to find out they used his song.

#2.) “Baby One More Time” by Britney Spears.

#3.) “White America” by Eminem.

#4.) “Killing in the Name” by Rage Against the Machine: Their guitarist, Tom Morello, said he’d rather they used it to torture George W. Bush instead.

#5.) “Don’t Gimme No Lip” by Pearl Jam.

#6.) “Somewhat Damaged” by Nine Inch Nails.

#7.) “Enter Sandman” by Metallica. (–So apparently we tortured ourselves through most of high school . . . and at every pro sports arena.)

#8.) “Bodies” by Drowning Pool.

#9.) “Shoot to Thrill” by AC/DC.

#10.) “Hells Bells” by AC/DC.

#11.) “I Love You” by Barney the purple dinosaur . . . the theme song for “Barney & Friends”.

#12.) “Born in the USA” by Bruce Springsteen.

#13.) “Babylon” by David Gray.

Cheers,
Jolene

Slipknot and Stone Sour news!
Slipknot and Stone Sour news!!

(New York, NY): For their millions of fans around the world, Slipknot are as much a culture and a way of life as they are a band. To completely engage with all of the perseverance, ingenuity, artistic integrity and holistic vision of Slipknot's creative output in all of its forms, is to fully embrace every facet, and to find community in counterculture and true strength in survival.

Slipknot is like no other band the rock scene has ever encountered and to celebrate two decades of game-changing existence, the band will release Antennas to Hell, a "best of" collection documenting its inimitable career, on July 24. The album is scheduled to be released via Roadrunner Records while the band is spending its summer as the main attraction of the 2012 edition of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, as well as curating and headlining the inaugural year of  their very own festival, Knotfest.

The time is right for a "best of" collection from the band, as it captures the first chapter of Slipknot – a chapter where they’ve gone from unknown to the one of the biggest rock bands in the world -- all on their own terms.

This summer’s Mayhem and Knotfest outings celebrate the band and the life of late bassist Paul Gray, and will serve as ‘the end of the beginning’ for Slipknot – this summer’s performances will be the fan’s last chance to see them as they are now.  Of course the band will continue- but just as inevitable with Slipknot, is the fact that the band will evolve - and the future is unwritten.   Antennas to Hell serves as a companion to that celebration.  The two-disc version of Antennas to Hell includes a bonus live CD that captures the band’s 2009 performance at the legendary Download Festival in the U.K. The live disc showcases the band playing a set of career spanning classics in front of 80,000 rabid fans.  The journey from - “(sic)” - track 1 on their self-titled debut -  to “Snuff”  - the haunting No. 1 rock track from 2008’s All Hope Is Gone  - proves that.  The album features fan favorites, live classics and well-known radio hits.

Furthering the immersion in the band’s culture, this summer will see the release of the band’s first ever mobile application, Wear the Mask.  Part mask builder, part social connector for fans, and 100% Slipknot in its look and execution, the app brings the Slipknot mindset into previously uncharted territory –  the mobile devices of fans worldwide. Wear the Mask will be released simultaneously with Antennas to Hell.

Take a look at the numbers.  Globally, Slipknot have notched 11 Platinum albums and 38 Gold albums, as well as some multi-Platinum releases across albums and DVD releases.  The band's most recent studio album, All Hope Is Gone, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top 200 chart.  The band has won a Grammy, and has also been nominated seven times.

Slipknot -- vocalist Corey Taylor (8), guitarist Mick Thomson (7),  DJ Sid Wilson (0), percussionist Clown (6), late bassist Paul Gray (2), drummer Joey Jordison (1), percussionist Chris Fehn (3, ) guitarist Jim Root (4), sampler Craig Jones - 133 (5)-- came to embody all that it meant to be “heavy” both in terms of  melody and subject matter, as well as in their commitment to the purest of expression and to the ultimate empowerment and triumph of their audience. Founded in 1995, and immediately foresaw the inevitable domination of an artistic vehicle that would expand the boundaries of possibility within metal and hard rock music, both onstage and off.

The band has spent over a decade slowly and methodically cementing their place as one of rock’s most loved acts.  They’ve dominated their own headlining tours and festivals around the world while maintaining the fiercely loyal support of their following, both embracing and engaging their fans with their steady evolution.  Slipknot continually challenge their fans with new ventures, greater challenges, and new and exciting music.  To the surprise of many outside of the culture (but not to the band and its fans), Slipknot's most recent #1 song was a ballad – the haunting and riveting "Snuff."  To not evolve is to die.

Today, Slipknot stand alongside institutions like Metallica and Iron Maiden, as one of a select few bands whose legacy is assured within the pantheon of elite heavy metal bands.

Slipknot march on, 15 years since the first incarnation came together. Personalities may collide but their collective drive continues to keep them bonded as brothers. "We're banded together in hate," says Jordison. "Sometimes we hate each other, sometimes we hate the world. Sometimes we just hate our own lives. But when we get together, something monstrous happens and we pull this amazing sound out of all that energy. Plus, we believe in world domination. And this is the band that’s going to get us there.”

Always imitated, never duplicated, there is only one Slipknot. And they're peerless.

And for Stone Sour news!!!!!!!!

Stone Sour fans have been patiently waiting after Corey Taylor recently teased something called ‘HoGaB,’ with details to be revealed in June. Their patience was rewarded Monday (June 11) when Taylor took to his Twitter account to reveal some of the details behind the band’s next release, which will be titled ‘House of Gold and Bones.’

The singer unveiled in a series of tweets, “I promised today you’d get the explanation to HoGaB. Well, today that’s exactly what you get … The new Stone Sour album is a two-part double concept album called ‘House of Gold and Bones’ (HoGaB), parts 1 and 2. Part 1 will drop in Oct. ’12. Part 2 will drop next year. 24 songs, 12 on each disc.”

He went on to add, “Each disc will include one half of the story – for lyrics, you’ll have to [visit] our site. Once I lock in the company who will help me put it together, there will be a comic book as well. Song titles include ‘Absolute Zero,’ ‘RU486,’ ‘A Rumor of Skin,’ and ‘Taciturn.’ Very excited for everyone to hear it! Stay tuned! #HoGaBoctober12″

Stone Sour worked with producer David Bottrill on the disc, and recruited Rachel Bolan of Skid Row fame to play bass on the disc in place of former member Shawn Economaki.

The Stone Sour news comes as part of a big day for Taylor. His other band, Slipknot, finally revealed the details of their ‘Antennas to Hell‘ greatest hits collection. The set arrives July 24, and comes in the midst of their headlining run on the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival. The band will finish out the summer with their own two-date, two-location Knotfest.

Well hey big tipper!!
FOO FIGHTERS: Hey Big Tipper!

Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl showed off a generous side in Philadelphia last month. Grohl was reportedly in the area for a Memorial Day weekend wedding and went to the Smith and Wollensky steakhouse twice. He tipped $1,000 after having one drink on the Friday night and another $1,000 the next night when he had a few drinks.

Being rich isn't the end all be all for me but it would be fun as sh*t to tip this big!  An old buddy of mine believed tipping well made up for past sins and was like giving your tithing (sp?) at church!

Tip your way to heaven?

Have a great night!
