Metal Shop updates for this week!

So in case you have been living under a rock, or you're a broke ass jabroni like Kevin and I and can't afford cable, then you caught the season premiere of METALOCALYPSE on Adult Swim last sunday. Finally, the gang is back to provide us a new season of metal-filled cartoon entertainment. Here's a bit of what you might have missed last week:

-Powerglove, our favorite cartoon/video gamed theme cover band released their new record Saturday Morning Apocalypse this past week. We aired their cover of the X-Men theme song last week, and they also do tracks like Batman, Transformers, and even have Sonata Arctica frontman Tony Kakko making guest apperances on Pokemon's "Gotta Catch Em' All" as well as the Simpson's theme. Here's a video of a bit of their recording process -

Everyone's favorite space alien trash talkers GWAR have been running around the media circuit lately. Frontman Oderus Urungus recently appeared on Red Eye (although I never thought I'd make a link to a Fox News video here), and will appear on the Jimmy Fallon show on October 28th in support of their new record, "Bloody Pit Of Horror" out on Metal Blade - November 9th, 2010.

-Despite frontman Nergal's recent health struggles, Polish Death/Black metal band Behemoth has been pushing forward, recently releasing a trailer for their upcoming live DVD, "Evangelia Heretika."

Here's the trailer:

-Immolation and Vader are coming back to town with Pathology and local band No Living Witness on Sunday, October 10th at El Corazon.
But if you can't wait that long, then you can check out the Immolation set live from The Rave in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (of all places) on Thursday, October 7th at 6pm Pacific right HEEEYA.

Last but not least, this weekend we're going to be interviewing Tim Lambesis, frontman for As I Lay Dying and Austrian Death Machine. They'll be in town at El Corazon on October 8th with Unearth and Carnifex, and we have a ton of tickets we'll be giving away. AILD has announced they will be doing signings outside of El Corazon for 30 minutes from the moment the doors open. So if you're going to be standing in line, bring a shirt or CD to get signed!

Here's the video for "Parellels" off The Powerless Rise.-
