NIRVANA: An Animated Cobain

NIRVANA: An Animated Cobain

Kurt Cobain interview from 1993 has been animated by PBS.
The public broadcaster's web series Blank on Blank takes an interview with writer Jon Savage and sets it to some pen-and-ink visuals. In the recording, Cobain talks about his parents' divorce, punk rock and the stomach pains that bothered him for much of his life.
When Savage asked if Cobain had problems with people thinking he was gay in high school, the Nirvana frontman responds, "Yeah. I even thought that I was gay. I thought that might be the solution to my problem. Although I never experimented with it, I had a gay friend, and then my mother wouldn't allow me to be friends with him anymore because...well, she's homophobic. It was real devastating because finally I found a male friend who I actually hugged and was affectionate too, and we talked about a lot of things...I couldn't hang out with him anymore."
