Crash – Fatality – On July 1st at 1:58AM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of the Prince William Pkwy and Crooked Knoll Way in Manassas (20111) to investigate a crash. The investigation revealed that the driver of 2001 Subaru Impreza RS was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of the Prince William Pkwy when the vehicle collided head on with a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt which was traveling westbound. The driver of the Subaru was pronounced dead at the scene. The other diver was flown to an area hospital with serious injuries. Speed is not believed to be a factor in the collision. Potential drug and alcohol use remains under investigation. The investigation continues. Identified:
The driver of the 2001 Subaru Impreza RS was identified as Jason Nathaniel AYERS, 37, of Nokesville
The driver of the 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt was identified as a 23 year old woman of Alexandria
Residential Burglary – On June 30th at 6:19PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 16100 block of Taconic Cir in Dumfries (22025) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 3:30PM and 4:30PM. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the residence through the front door which was found damaged. No property was reported missing. The homeowner was not home at the time of the incident.
Attempted Residential Burglary – On July 1st at 5:39AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 10100 block of Asheville St in Manassas (20109) to investigate an attempted burglary. The homeowner reported to police that between 10:00PM on June 30th and 5:30AM on July 1st, entry was attempted into the home through a front glass door which was found damaged. No entry was made into the home and no property was reported missing.
Attempted Malicious Wounding | Domestic Assault & Battery – On June 30th at 3:02AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 2400 block of Kilpatrick Pl in the Town of Dumfries (22026) to investigate a domestic assault. The victim, a 26 year old woman of Dumfries, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated physically. During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim and, at one point, retrieved a large knife. A witness to the incident, a 24 year old man, attempted to intervene and became involved in a physical altercation with the accused. Officers arrived shortly thereafter and separated all parties. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested. Arrested on June 30th:
