Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine has officially endorsed Republican Presidential candidate Rick Santorum. Mustaine used to be a staunch Democrat, even worked as MTv's political correspondent during the 1992 Democratic Convention, trying to convince young voters to vote Democrat. In the last few years, Dave has become a born- again Christian and is firmly on the Republican side of the fence. And while Santorum is completely full of sh*t, he's done the best job of convincing those who vote based on their faith that he, too, is a man of faith... although we can't identify a single religion that supports his views. He says he's Catholic, but there's no evidence to support that claim (it should be noted that there's more to being Catholic than opposing abortion)... but I digress. The point is, Santorum is playing the God- card and Dave is one of the people who has fallen for it. Meanwhile, a guy named Paul Pfiefer is the current senior member of the Ohio State Supreme Court and he's working to overturn his states death penalty law. What you should know is that the law has been on the books for 30 years... and HE was the guy who wrote it in the first place back in his days as a prosecutor. Something has happened in the last 30 years to change his mind. Then again, it's been about 30 years since I've had a Shamrock Shake from McDonald's, but that changed this morning when I finally got my hands on one. It will be at least ANOTHER 30 years before I have another one. Not exactly what I remember. So today's question is: WHAT DID YOU USED TO THINK OR BELIEVE THAT YOU DON'T ANYMORE... AND WHAT CHANGED YOUR MIND?
I used to think little kids sucked. Couldn't understand why anyone would want to subject themselves to their presence... now I have a kid and I think they're f**king awesome! Well, MY kid, probably not yours.
As for you:
Never believed in 'true love' until he met the girl he's currently with. Plans to ask her to marry him, but before you say "awwwww", you should know they've been together for one MONTH
Used to think gay people chose to be gay... now he knows better
Used to be religious, attended church, joined the choir and just got very involved... started recognizing the hypocrisy, corruption and fear tactics. Says he still "might" believe in God but doesn't think religion is a legitimate road to understanding Him
Used to like Megadeth until he heard the news that Dave Mustaine is a born- again Christian
Was a fan of U2 back in the day, agreed with their politics, etc, now he think their music has declined and that Bono is "pompous". I think that's a fair and objective observation
Used to think parents were always right... he's 28 and now he knows that's not quite the case. As a parent, I can tell you that I have no idea what the hell I'm doing
Used to be an "ass" man, now he's a "boob" man... because he saw his first pair of big, big (.)(.)'s and his mind was blown
Truly believed that Courtney Love had hired a hit man and had Kurt Cobain murdered... then it occurred to him that anyone married to Courtney Love would kill themselves
Used to only buy American muscle cars and swore he'd never buy a foreign "rice burner"... gas prices went through the roof, he bought himself a KIA and now, 3 years later, he's enjoying the savings
Never believed in karma until she just saw a "crappy" driver get rear-ended
Used to believe in our federal government and then they "grew up"... happens to all of us
On a more serious note, the neighbor of the woman in the following story has asked us to post this link:
Keep an eye out if you're in the area.
