AXL ROSE: Rock's Biggest Offender

AXL ROSE: Rock's Biggest Offender

Hahah I have to agree with most of these. What are the most annoying things do in your opinion?

Rolling Stone has compiled a list of the 10 most annoying things that bands do at rock concerts, and without naming names, Guns N' Roses' Axl Rosewould top the list as the number-one most annoying habit is "show up ridiculously late."
2) Exclude key band members. "When Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac and Bill Wyman of the Rolling Stones decided to scale back their lives and get off the road, we would have all preferred to see them with their bands still. The shows suffered from their absence, but people have a right to quit. A band isn't the mafia."
3) Play too much from the new album. Culprits include Neil Young and Radiohead.
4) Only perform the hits. Culprits include Elton John and Billy Joel.
5) Play anything resembling a medley.
6) Ignore the music of your beloved former band.
7) Play perverse arrangements of your songs. Bob Dylan is the biggest offender of this one.
8) Never vary the set list. Bruce Springsteen and Pearl Jam can never be accused of this.
9) Solo. "This will have some dissenters. But if you aren't Neil Peart, Ginger Baker, Eric Clapton or a musician on that level of genius, nobody wants to hear you solo."
10) Squeeze every possible penny out of fans. "We know the concert industry is a business, and with record sales sinking to new lows every year, it's just about the only place where artists can make real money. That said: tickets shouldn't be $300 unless those seats are actually on the stage. Meet-and-greets should be nice perks for your most devoted fans, not ways to squeeze more money out of people -- some acts actually charge upwards of $1,000 for a quick handshake and a photo."

Sit N Spin!

If you like____ you're more likely to______.

A website called stereotype.fm used a survey answers from more than 100.000 people to come up bizarre personality traits for fans of various musicians. The possibilities are endless with this rad site! Check it out for yourself! http://stereotype.fm/

Check out the complete list with all the songs we featured and their fan facts via the link below!

I say take this useful playlist and surprise your peeps with the factoids!
http://kisw.tunegenie.com/u/__znjWJ0YSSKBC2kr2EE2Yg/sis-if-you-like-blank-you-are-more-likely-to/

In 2013, when the vast majority of music fans have Spotify and iTunes and the average listener's taste is so schizophrenic that they're into both Taylor Swift and Metallica, it's getting harder and harder to define a person's personal likes and dislikes purely by what bands they like. Thankfully there's a new website that seeks to answer some of those questions—or at least what band's fans are more likely to be conservative or pick their noses when no one's looking.
Stereotype.fm attempts to determine personality traits of a band's fans by compiling data from more than 100,000 surveys conducted on sister site Tastebuds.fm. While some of the results are less than surprising—Hilary Duff fans are least like to have ever smoked weed, for example—others shine a light on the broad-based fandom of some of today's more polarizing or underappreciated bands. Who would have guessed, for instance, that 22% of Alanis Morissette fans have had a threesome?
More fun facts: Fugazi fans are fairly likely to have attended a private school, while Bonnie "Prince" Billy boasts a wealth of Atheist fans. But Fun and Mumford & Sons have a healthy conservative fanbase, though somewhat hearteningly, only 8% of Tastebuds users surveyed identified themselves as leaning to the far right.
Plug some band names into the search engine and play around with the system for a few minutes. The results might just be surprising. [via Buzzfeed]

John Bonham always and forever!!

The late, great John "Bonzo" Bonham of Led Zeppelin would have turned 65 today!! The power, the swing, the rhythm and those trees he played!!

How about a little "love" for the man who inspired thousands of drummers and musicians worldwide?!

Favorite Zepp song he played on?

Have a fantastic weekend gang!

GUNS N' ROSES: Check Out a Young Axl

GUNS N' ROSES: Check Out a Young Axl

I love hearing stuff like this. An insight to who they were before ya know, they hit the bigtime!

A demo recording of Axl Rose in a pre-Guns n' Roses band has hit YouTube.
The track is called "Ready to Rumble" and was done by the band by Rapidfire. That band's guitarist, Kevin Lawrence, uploaded the clip recently and says it was recorded on May 25th 1983 -- three days before Rose met future bandmate Slash at a Rapidfire concert.

Check it out!

SIS Top 10 Clap Songs!

SIS Top 10 Clap songs!

UltiamateClassicRock.com compiled this fine list.  Enjoy the playlist and see if you can stay on time heh!

http://kisw.tunegenie.com/u/__znjWJ0YSSKBC2kr2EE2Yg/sis-top-10-clap-songs/

10. 'Stuck in the Middle With You'
Stealers Wheel

From: 'Stealers Wheel' (1972)
The hand claps in this Top 10 hit play against both the acoustic-guitar shuffle and the subtle rhythm laid out by the drums and bass. In a way, they're the driving force of this Dylanesque song, which went on to score one of the most iconic, and bloody, movie scenes of '90s: the severed-ear slice from 'Reservoir Dogs.'

9
'Bang a Gong (Get It On)'
T-Rex

From: Electric Warrior' (1971)
Glam rock was all about hand claps. In fact, there was a study in the late '80s that estimated that 97.4 percent of all glam songs contained hand claps. But don't quote us on that. But just trust us when we say that hand claps were as prevalent in glam as honking sax, androgyny and glittering stardust. 'Bang a Gong (Get It On)' is one of the genre's all-time best.

8
'Only the Good Die Young'
Billy Joel

From: 'The Stranger' (1977)
A horned-up Joel tries to (Catholic) guilt a girl into bed over a steady stream of hand claps that ride 'Only the Good Die Young''s backbeat like a 10-foot wave. Unlike 'Stuck in the Middle With You' (see No. 10 on our list of the Top 10 Hand Clap Songs), 'Only the Good Die Young' stays on rhythm, adding more fuel to the percussion fire.

6
'Take the Money and Run'
Steve Miller Band

From: 'Fly Like an Eagle' (1976)
The Steve Miller Band's hit song is not like most of the usual rhythm-guided claps on our list of the Top 10 Hand Clap Songs. Instead, the rapid-fire claps of 'Take the Money and Run' show up in bursts throughout the verses, punctuating the song rather than helping steer it. Either way, it's a great use of two hands.

6
'I Want to Hold Your Hand'
The Beatles

From: 1963 Single
Can you imagine 'I Want to Hold Your Hand' without the hand claps pushing along the verses? They're as integral to the mix as the band's celebrated harmonies. Like in most pop music from the period, the claps almost seem like an afterthought in the Beatles' breakthrough hit. But the group knew the power of a well-placed hand clap (see various other songs in their catalog).

5
'No Matter What'
Badfinger

From: 'No Dice' (1970)
Like glam rock (see No. 9 on our list of the Top 10 Hand Clap Songs), power pop was basically built on hand claps. But Badfinger's best song uses claps sparingly. In fact, they don't show up until the guitar solo, and they're so underscored, you hardly notice them. Until one final run through the refrain near the end of the song unleashes a flurry of them. Gloriously.

4
'Another One Bites the Dust'
Queen

From: 'The Game' (1980)
Queen stole the beat and rhythm for their No. 1 hit from Chic's great disco song 'Good Times.' But the hand claps that show up about halfway through the song, during the breakdown after the bridge, are all theirs, and they carry the song from just another dance-floor period piece into a realm where hand claps get together to cheer each other on.

3
'No Fun'
The Stooges

From: 'The Stooges' (1969)
For a proto-punk band that loved noise, chaos and, um, noise, the Stooges sure do get behind the feisty hand claps that propel this cut from their debut album. The claps run alongside 'No Fun' for its entire five-plus minutes, never missing a beat, not even during the super-fuzzy guitar solo that erupts all over Iggy's vocal cords during the final couple minutes.

2
'My Best Friend's Girl'
The Cars

From: 'The Cars' (1978)
For 'My Best Friend's Girl''s first 30 seconds, it's just bass, Ric Ocasek's voice and one of the most famous hand claps in rock history. After that, the claps disappear until a brief appearance during the song's fade. But for that first half-minute, they set up the song, guide it along and make sure it's ready to take on the next three minutes. In other words, the hand claps do all the heavy lifting.

1
'Jack & Diane'
John Cougar Mellencamp

From: 'American Fool' (1982)
The hand claps in 'Jack & Diane' do so much for the song -- they drive it, keep it in shape, power it, make it a much better song than it'd be without them -- we're just gonna name them the MVP of our list of the Top 10 Hand Clap Songs. The main instrumental passages and verses of John Mellencamp's (still going by John Cougar back then) only No. 1 would be an empty vessel of a song without the claps. A round of applause, please.
