It's all Marshawn Lynch all the time today...but before I get to that... I want to share this trailer for Hot Tub Time Machine 2, as it has a great connection to Sunday's game. I am pretty pumped to see this movie...I loved the first one...but after watching this trailer, I don't know if I should use the word "pumped" to illustrate my excitement!
Once again Marshawn Lynch is the talk of the sports world for…well..not wanting to talk to the media. Man, his press conference was AWESOME yesterday. I love how he makes it very clear what his intentions are for this press conference from the minute he sits down…
I know many of us in the North West find humor in this, but of course on a national level…people don't get it. I saw a bunch of my east coast buds saying mean things about Lynch on social media, all because of this press conference. I think that is beyond stupid that people will base an opinion on someone because of a press conference. I base my opinion him from moments like this… Check out Marshawn's conversation with Entertainment Tonight's special correspondent Michelle Williams.
I love this because A. Because he is an awful singer like me. And B. Because of what he does for kids.
Marshawn Lynch has been able to take his silence with the media and turn it into another endorsement deal. This time, he stars in a commercial for Progressive with ESPN's Kenny Mayne.
Finally…thanks to Hot Kyle for sending me this ridiculous and awesome video. According to this porcupine (named Teddy Bear), the Seahawks are going to win the Super Bowl. It has correctly predicted the winner of the Super Bowl for the last three years.
Yesterday, Marshawn Lynch won the internet…hands down. He did a press conference yesterday where he had plenty to say. Was he being interviewed by reporters for the Super Bowl? Of course not! He was interviewed by Skittles…
If you aren't following me on twitter, you really are missing out on some special entertainment that takes less than 140 characters to read. It's a true extension of the intelligence I bring onto the airwaves…
I tried to jokingly text "Yolo", and my phone auto corrected it to "tool." I think my phone was telling me something.
I have to say…watching the footage of all the Seahawks fans lining the streets around SeaTac to send off the team was pretty damn cool. The love this town has for the team is pretty awesome, and it's cool to see how much love the players have for the fans. I got a kick out of seeing all the players recording the fans on the streets as they drove by. Here is a video that Malcolm Smith posted…
As soon as they got off the plane in Arizona, a bunch of the players were thrown right into the fire for a press conference. Once again Richard Sherman made some news for his comments on if he thinks the Patriots will be punished for the deflated balls controversy…
The hightlight of his press conference though, was him getting annoyed with a reporter…telling him that his question was on a pre-school level (he asked Richard if he thought he was still the best corner in the game).
Finally, I have to give a big thank you to my friend Angel. She had a meeting with Jordan Hill of the Seahawks, and our station came up & how I am a big fan…so Jordan sent me a message….
The trend continues! I have more Seahawks videos to share with you, and this one is a MUST WATCH! NFL Films put together a recap of the game against the packers, and it not only includes some awesomely shot footage…but the players are mic'ed up. To hear the players on the field…especially Russell and Kam…is pretty damn cool. I ain't gonna lie…watching this got me fired up for this morning. If you are a Hawks fan, you have to check this out!
So every day I have been posting fun Seahawks related videos on my blog for a while now…and I will continue to do until the Super Bowl (and hopefully past it as well to bask in the victory). My buddy Levi texted me this video he put together that I thought was very cool.
Levi is a concert promoter (Lyon Pride Music), plus he has a party bus company – which I highly recommend as I have used it in the past and they are beyond cool to work with – and they set up their new party bus by Century Link Field for a tailgate party. Check out the video…
Here is another video of their new huge bus…it looks amazing! Sorry, I geek out about this type of stuff…I'm a fan of being able to have a fun night and no that no one needs to drive!
My hockey team used his bus to go to Spokane for our hockey tournament, and we can't wait to do it again this year!
Speaking of Levi, he has a show coming up this Saturday that looks like a fun one… Powerman 5000 and (HED)Pe are playing this Saturday at El Corazon…here is the flyer…
Steve myself and my buddies were at the game. We were so excited when SeattIe won I lifted my buddy like Patrick Swayze did with Jennifer Grey in dirty dancing hahaha the roller coaster of emotions took everyone there
Here is an awesome video someone made about the game…
All this week I have been posting Hawks related videos to get everyone pumped for Sunday's game. I got an email from Mark with an awesome suggestion on a Hawks song parody. Mark wrote:
Check out this great Hawks video/song produced by some of my church leaders at New Life Church in Renton. You will love this!! You may want to post on your blog!!
I absolutely want to post this on my blog…check it out:
A couple of thoughts about this video…
A. It's fun and they did a great job. 2. Sweet Rick Mirer #3 jersey!
C. The older lady that dances with them rules
4. The gal in the video has some awesome facial expressions while she dances.
5. The song is now stuck in my head!
However…this song pales in comparison to the hottest Hawks song… Mono-Nick made in the last 2 weeks. Yesterday we interviewed Jermaine Kearse from the Hawks, and he actually saw this video and digs the song…
I do have to say…even though this song is from last year, this is my all time favorite Hawks themed song. It's Eric Keith & Vel Vett with the Seahawks Anthem!
In my ongoing Hawks-centric blog postings…today I wanted to share a pretty cool about the man that has made the phrase "Holy Cat bFish" cool. Your vopice of the Seahawks…Steve Raible! NFL Films made a cool video about him…I would embed it here, but they don't make it easy to do that…so click HERE to check it out!
The other day I posted a fun video that our bud Craig Gass posted where he made Matt Hasselbeck uncomfortable. Well, Craig posted another fun video…where he had the "honor" to "raise" the 12th Man Flag!
Craig is at The Neptune Theater this Saturday! You can get tickets HERE!
Oh hell yeah…I am so pumped…I caved in and got tickets for Sunday's game. I cannot wait!
For those that are not Hawks fans, you might want to steer clear of my blog for a bit as that is all I can think about! I found some more Seahawks related videos…this one gave me goose bumps this morning. What do you get when you combine footage from last Saturday's win against the Panthers…and the music of Alice In Chains? You get this:
It's all about the Seahawks y'all…this city if full of Hawks love, and our bud Craig Gass sent me this video that he just posted that is awesome.
Craig is a HUGE Seahawks fan…hell he planned a comedy show here in Seattle on Saturday 1/17 (this Saturday) at The Neptune Theater many months ago with hopes that the Hawks will be playing the next day…which they are! You can get tickets HERE!
Craig just posted this video that features a former Seahawk great, Matt Hasselbeck. Enjoy!
Speaking of cool Hawks related videos…props to Derek Muller, he made an awesome video based on Kam Chancellor referring to himself as the Dark Knight.
I can't even put into words how awesome Saturday was. I was lucky enough to go to the Hawks game, and I think the best way I can describe it is ELECTRIC! The energy in Century Link Field was incredible…this town was on fire…the whole stadium was rocking from the minute the players came out of the tunnel all the way to the final knee that Wilson took to win the game!
Marshawn Lynch did a post game interview and started a new catch phrase…"I'm Thankful".
On a serious note…I know I have ranted about this before, but I really hope that in the future the players union can make it so that not all players have to do interviews. You can see it in his face how he HATES doing them, and there are plenty of players that like doing them…so let them handle the interviews and let Marshawn off the hook.
Yes, in the background you can hear the "CoCo" song that apparently is the team's pump up song. Have you heard Mono-Nick's version yet? I wonder if the Hawks players would get a kick out of it?
UFC Champ Jon "Bones" Jones just checked into rehab, after testing positive for traces of cocaine in his system.
I thought it was odd last weekend that when he was introduced before his fight against Cormier, instead of being introduced that he weighs 205 pounds, they said "weighing in at 93 KILOS". Waka Waka.
Plus he came out to this song…
Wait…no…he came out to this song…
Ok, I joke…but in all seriousness…if I am UFC fighter Nick Diaz, I am probably rolling my eyes. Nick has been suspended for have THC in his system. Which is worse? Who would you rather fight -- the stoned dude, or the fella coked out of his mind?
This is beyond messed up. A local comic was just attacked by some dude that was angry because he wasn't allowed to perform. Dylan Avila is a very funny comic that I just got to see on Saturday (he opened for Sarah Colonna at The Parlor Live), and he hosted an "Open Mic" in Renton on Monday night. This guy, that goes by the name "Jesus Christ", performed the week before and Dylan told him that he wouldn't be able to perform there again as his act involved a bible and a sex toy (I don't blame Dylan…that sounds ridiculous even on paper…I can't imagine what it would be like live)…so this guy hid behind the staghe, and when Dylan was up there he attacked him…hitting him twice in the head with an aluminum baseball bat!
Thankfully the other comics and patrons…jumped in and the guy was arrested…and thankfully Dylan is alive. He suffered a fractured skull…and his friends created a Go Fund Me page top help his costs. If you are able to help him and his family out…click here: http://www.gofundme.com/jskm4g
Today was our first day back on the air…and man did I have an eventful couple weeks off. The highlight…
Yup…I got to hang out and podcast with Jon Ryan of the Seahawks and his fiancé, comedian Sarah Colonna! Sarah was doing some shows at the Parlor Live last week, and since we were not on the air…they came down and talked about getting engaged, the Seahawks, the art of comedy, and Scrapbooking! Listen to it on iTUNES or Stitcher (search STP-CAST), or right HERE:
After we did the podcast…my wife and I went to the EMP to check out the We are 12 Seahawks Exhibit – which is AWESOME! So many cool things to look at…like the Lombardi Trophy:
Look at my hand compared to Russell Wilson's…damn…he does have big hands!
My favorite though… Pete Carroll's hand written notes for his Super Bowl pre-game speech!
While there we checked out some of the other cool exhibits there… BJ will dig seeing the Star Trek Captains chair (and Tribbles)…and the Doctor Who Dalek…
My favorite part was the Music Video's exhibit…if you are a fan of the old days of MTV…you will appreciate this photo opportunity…
Plus…as a Blur fan, it was cool to hang out with this fella…
Also over the weekend…I went to the Christmas Story play at the 5th Ave Theater…the highlight…getting to channel my inner Ralphie!
For Christmas…once again I was honored to be Santa for the family!
Finally…many of you wondered if I got the protective cup that I asked for Christmas. Everyone thought I was crazy that I would ask my mother in-law for a jock…well…I did get it…but not from her! My wife also thought that was a very odd request, so she got it for me, and never thought of asking her mom to buy me a cup! Check this out!
