Steve Migs Blog 06/30/15 "The MegaCast Invades KING5"

Huge thanks to the fine folks over at New Day Northwest on KING5 for having us on their show!

That's right… Thee Ted Smith and I (aka The MegaCast) were on during their Hot Topics segment, and it was a blast as always!

Of course up until the moment that we were on TV… we were prepping backstage!

If you missed our big MegaCast TV debut… Here is the appearance:

So yesterday the NHL announced the latest inductees for the Hockey Hall Of Fame, and one of the guys inducted was Sergei Fedorov. They showed a clip of John Davidson and Lanny McDonald calling him… and I had to replay this multiple times, as I couldn't believe what he said!

Steve Migs Blog 06/29/15 "Rainiers & Steak!"

What a fun, busy weekend. On Saturday we had a blast at the Rainiers game. We had a gathering of the Titanic Douches for a Migs Cast listener party. Here's a pic of some of us!

Thanks to everyone that came out… you all were a fun rowdy bunch… after a few drinks, it quickly became the "heckle the other team" party!

If you aren't a member of our group on Facebook, you are missing out on a fun, drama free, community. Just search "The Migs Cast" to find us, and please join. We hope to have more fun parties in the future.

The R Yard is a fun section to check a game out at Cheney Stadium…

Plus it was fun to be in charge of the music played during batting practice…

Over the weekend we all went and "chaperoned" Sara's date for "Win A Date With BJ's Daughter". That was a blast! Thanks to car Pros for driving them around in a sweet Hyundai Eqqus…

Thanks to Sullivan's Steakhouse for the great setting for the date. The food was amazing…get the calamari as an appetizer (damn!), and their signature drink, The Knockout, is awesome!

Chris from our show was there filming, and put together a fun recap video of the date…check it out!

You can't beat a morning when this type of radio happens!

On Monday I shared with you how much fun I had at the Draft Tournament – a travelling hockey tournament that was in Bremerton over the weekend. A couple of pix have surfaced… check out our team (green) and the team we played in the championship.

We wound up winning 3-2…it was a true battle to the last second, and was an honor to play with and against great competitors!

Like I mentioned before… this is a hockey…and BOOZIN' event… and this picture sums up the weekend. This was taken on night one, and they stayed like that for about 3 hours!

This week on the Mega Cast, Thee Ted Smith and I have a very random episode… you should check it out as we tackle issues like Electronic Dance Music, the Confederate Flag, and why is my chest currently shaved to look like the state of Louisanna? Listen here…

Steve Migs Blog 06/24/15 "You Threw An AXE?!?"

I've done a lot of stupid things in my life… but this is one of the dumber things I have seen and I am certain my little brain would tell me, "Steve…don't be an idiot and throw an axe at a small target while people are behind it". Unfortunately for Fox & Friends co-host Pete Hegseth… he chose not to listen to common sense, and hucked an axe at a target… missed, and hit a guy playing the drums.

Thankfully the guy is OK… but he did share his thoughts about the idiot TV guy on a Facebook post. The drummer's name is Jim Prosperie, and he wrote:

My leadership told me they were told there would be no axe throwing. I think the anchor person went rogue and decided to throw it. He had only thrown it once before in practice for an upcoming segment and they told him to throw it with more force. The vid you see is edited showing the Televised portion of the throw and then edited to a portion that was taken on someone's phone of us being videoed. The part that was actually televised showed the overthrown axe and then segued to us for the drum solo bump, only showing me walking behind the section holding my arm. The actual part where the axe hit me was not televised. Poor decision, obvious negligence, should not have happened, could have been avoided. When shooting or throwing, always know what is behind your target. Basic safety rule.

Here is the video:

Steve Migs Blog 06/23/15 "Maron and Obama"

I hate talking politics… it's pointless when people aren't willing to keep their mind open to others opinions. People won't even process another person's opinion if it doesn't fall in line with their stubborn mentality. It's a huge reason why I don't identify with either of the 2 big parties… I don't agree with everything that is said by either side…and I certainly won't dismiss someone (mainly politicians) because of what letter is put next to their name. If you make sense in what you say, I will pay attention to any politician's words.

I say all of this because today we were talking about how the President was on Marc Maron's podcast, "WTF"… yes… Barack Obama went to Marc's house and recorded a podcast in his garage. How crazy and awesome is that? I say extremely awesome, but of course those that aren't fans of the President use this as an opportunity to spew hate. Relax people. Seriously. I think this was a brilliant move by the president – talk about forward thinking? He just embraced a relatively new form of media… and I hope this leads to more moments like this. I would feel the same way if this was President Bush, Clinton, or any other leader of our country.

This picture alone is incredible…

Of corse the big news from all oif this is that the president used the "N" word… the headlines of course read, "THE PRESIDENT SAID THE "N" WORD IN AN INTERVIEW"… oh my gosh, the horror. How could he?!?! Hopefully the people that had that knee jerk reaction eventually listened to why he said it….which was brilliant. Why? Had he not said that word…less attention would have been given to the context of why he said it…which was a powerful commentary on society now.

They were talking about the church shooting in Charleston, and racism in America in general. Obama said, "It is incontrovertible that race relations have improved significantly in my lifetime and yours, and that opportunities have opened up, and that attitudes have changed. That is a fact. What is also true is that the legacy of slavery, Jim Crow, discrimination in almost every institution of our lives, that casts a long shadow. And that's still part of our DNA that's passed on. We're not cured of it. It's not just a matter of it not being polite to say (the "N" word) in public. That's not the measure of whether racism still exists or not. It's not just a matter of overt discrimination."

Props to Marc for a great interview that had some very fun moments as well in it. I look forward to Thursday's episode where he shares behind the scenes stories about the President being on his show.

Steve Migs Blog 06/22/15 "Unreal Draft Tournament!"

Oh man am I hurting today! I just spent the weekend in Bremerton having the time of my life.

Over the weekend, myself and a few of my hockey buds took part in an awesome travelling hockey tournament called the Draft Tournament. Each month they are in a different city in the U.S. and in Canada (in the past it's been in Vegas, Juneau, Toronto, Canmore, etc)…and this past weekend was the Bremerton one.

The concept of the tournament is a blast…everyone that registered gathered on Friday night at the Clover Leaf bar in Bremerton and spent the night chatting, drinking, and then drafting. Going into the weekend you didn't have a team… you created the team that night as they had 13 rounds and put like-skilled players in each round to make the teams as fair as possible. Each round there would be a beer chugging race to determine who go the first pick. Hell, we even did a beer chugging race to determine who picked jersey's first… Here I am in the middle of that battle…

Goalies are in the books. Seattle is on its way!

Posted by NCHL Draft Tournament on Friday, June 19, 2015

So as the night goes on, you slowly build a team…it's fun to see how everyone is strategizing and deciding who to pick. I had a philosophy for my team… mainly it was to draft my buddy Jay that plays on the Donkeys with me…plus we were sharing a room together…besides that, I looked for players that looked like they are grinders on the ice and fans of crushing a beer or two. I succeeded on both accounts… here I am with Jay…

 photo 668E25A0-47C8-483B-9B61-7B1BFCD79977_zpsd3k4127u.jpg

As for the rest of the team… we had a team of, as they say in the hockey world, "beauties". Everyone on our team was cool as hell.. and yes… they could crush beers… as we proved that on Friday night when we dominated the beer chugging race to determine our schedule for the weekend.

 photo B88BF1A6-4B03-426F-BE3C-3D1366E4F793_zpsmt9kiyz9.jpg

Yup… we finished in 109 seconds… the next closes team finished at 125 seconds.

One of my big strategies (besides drinking ability) in picking the team was trying to create a team that would have chemistry – through the draft I was able to get a father and son… as well as a father and daughter…and when we played our first game on Saturday, I knew that was a smart choice. We came out flying and won our first game 6-3…then we grabbed a shut-out in the second game 5-0…but then we hit a wall, thanks to some unlucky bounces we were handed our first loss 5-3…which concluded the day.

Then we boozed! We hit up a place called the Garage in Bremerton, which was an awesome place… plus we had an opportunity to grab a pic with some random person's birthday cake.

 photo 2CD141BC-616B-4CAF-8240-36ADD86475CB_zpstxfbnhgy.jpg

We then all wound up staying up late drinking in our hotel room. Getting an early night's rest was not in the plan… so on Sunday we were all hurting for our first game. We played a team that was undefeated on Saturday, and won their last game 12-2…we knew that it would be a battle, but our team played hard and grinded out a 5-1 win….putting us in the championship game! We had a couple hours break before this game… and the game was an absolute battle. It was tied with 2 minutes left when my bud Jay scored a huge goal to put us up 3-2. The last minute of the game was intense… I thankfully was able to stop a few shots fired my way in those last few minutes to win the game!

Thanks to Cody, who heard about me playing in the tournament on the Migs Cast for coming down to cheer us on...and for snapping a few pix:

Winning the championship was a damn cool experience… but who I was able to win it with made it all the more awesome… knowing that a guy named Doug and his daughter Mo… as well as a guy named Dave and his son Jack… were all able to play together for a weekend (especially father's day weekend) was an experience I can't put into words!

A few of us all said the same thing… usually when you take part into any event, you will usually have ideas on how things could have been better… with this tournament, I have no suggestions on what they could improve… these guys executed this event flawlessly, and accomplished their goal – to have fun and play hockey. I can't wait to play in more of these tournaments!

Big thanks to Nick (you have head him on our podcast), Brett, Roman, and everyone else from the NCHL for bringing the Draft Tournament to town.

Steve Migs Blog 06/19/15 "Party With The Blackhawks!"

Even though I am not a Blackhawks fan…they seem like the team I would most want to party with. From Patrick Kane's drunken antics to Corey Crawford's foul mouth when on live television… these guys bring the party. Yesterday was their Stanley Cup victory parade, and I love that a couple of the guys on the team decided to sing one of my favorite Macklemore songs, "And We Danced":

Not familiar with that song? It's a fun one!

Steve Migs Blog 06/18/15 "Float On"

So recently I took up a new way to refresh my mind and body…

If people realized how awesome floating is, and how it gives you such a high (both mind and body) – they might outlaw it like it's a drug! Ok, I kid…as I am sure it will never get outlawed, but I am not kidding that the floating experience is some next level stuff.

It's hard to put it into words… but imagine what it would be like to float in space in the dark… by yourself… left to your own thoughts… that is just cracking the surface of the float experience.

It's amazing how therapeutic it can be when you are putting no pressure on any part of your body… as you focus in on how you breathe and how you think.

I'm not kidding… there was a moment during the float that it felt like I was dead, and all I was left with was my soul and thoughts. Yes, I know that sounds crazy, but spend a minute chatting with someone that actively floats, and I am sure they will also tell you some crazy stories as well.

I love it so much that I purchased a monthly membership at Float Seattle.

I recently shared my experience floating on an episode of The Migs Cast…you can listen to that episode here:

Joe Rogan (comedian, podcaster, UFC color commentator) is a HUGE advocate of floating… this is a pretty cool video someone made that includes Joe talking about it…

What is floating? Well, you get into an isolation tank that is filled with under a foot of water that is filled with about 800 pounds of salt water…and you just float for about an hour. Say goodbye to gravity as the salt in the water will hold you up.

It's hard to put it into words… but imagine what it would be like to float in space in the dark… by yourself… left to your own thoughts… that is just cracking the surface of the float experience.

Steve Migs Blog 06/17/15 "Figure It Out"

I was just chatting with my wife, as this morning we played "Figure It Out" by Royal Blood… she texted me when she heard it asking who they were as she loved the song. Have you heard this song? It's so damn good!

These guys are a two piece… yes, that huge sound is just 2 dudes… and they don't even have a guitarist. It's a bassist and drummer…and the bassist has an effect pedal and from what I hear he splits his sounds into two amps…so as he is playing the riff on his bass… in one amp it has the crunchy distorted sound, and in the other amp it kicks out the typical cleaner bass sound.
Their new record is so good… here is another song that I am really digging, the drum breakdown at the end is sick!

One more song… hopefully after you hear this one, you will be just as sold as I am on this band!

What's up with all the awesome 2 piece bands? Twenty One Pilots… White Stripes… The Black Keys… Milli Vanilli… wait…

Steve Migs Blog 06/16/15 "Lord Stanley's Cup"

There are many things that I love about hockey – the sport is fully of amazing action, but so many incredible back stories about the teams, the players, and the overall history of the sport. The Stanley Cup brings out some of the coolest moments in sports, and yesterday did not disappoint!

Last night the Chicago Blackhawks won their third Stanley Cup in six years, and finally won at home…which made it all the cooler to watch!

This a pretty cool montage of celebrations that the NHL whipped up…

The highlight, besides the intense 3 periods of hockey that we watched last night, was the ceremony afterwards.

First off…I love the ceremonial handshake line between the two teams… these two teams battle for 6 games…beating the living hell out of each other…and when all is said and done… they line up, and show respect for each other with handshakes.

Then comes the presentation of Lord Stanley's cup. You want to see a grown athlete look like a little kid again? Watch as he lifts the Cup up with wide eyes. It's a goose bump moment for sure.

The captain of the team is handed the Cup first… then he chooses who gets it next. More often than not, it goes to a veteran player on the team that has never won a Cup… and that player last night was Kimo Timonen. Kimo joined the Blackhawks just a few months ago… he is 40 years old, and made it clear that this would be his last season… Cup or no Cup, Kimo planned on retiring.

Kimo didn't originally get dressed for the finals… the team was set with their defensive pairings, and even though it would have been a cool gesture to have him play… obviously every player is important and you can't just dress a guy as a nice gesture…so there was a good chance that he wouldn't see a second of ice time in the finals. Not seeing ice time means that his name wouldn't be engraved on the Cup if they won (unless the team campaigned for an exception, which I am sure they would have)…but more importantly, he wouldn't get to play and help win the Cup.
That changed when an injury to a teammate led to him getting to play the last couple of games… including last night. So when it was time for captain Jonathan Toews to pass the Cup to a teammate… Kimo was the first to get it… and after he lifted it, he tried to pass it to the next guy, but his teammates made him skate with it more to savior the moment. That's respect.

Steve Migs Blog 06/15/15 "A Classy Tribute To Dusty!"

Huge props to the WWE… I was watching their Money In The Bank PPV, and they gave a great tribute to "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes…who passed away on Thursday sadly. If you missed it…

You could see the true emotion in all of these WWE Superstars faces… especially the younger talent as he has had a huge impact on them being that he works hands on with a lot of these wrestlers in NXT.

They put together an awesome video tribute as well.. once again, the WWE were all class when paying their respect to one of the great ones!

This was one of the coolest things I have seen in a while… A band called John Coffey was playing at a music festival in Holland over the weekend. While the lead singer was crowd surfing, someone threw a cup full of beer at him…somehow he caught it without letting it spill, and then pounded the drink down. Give this guy a Grammy or something!

Steve Migs Blog 06/12/15 "Son of A Plumber... Best in The Biz"

So yesterday I was heading to play hockey and put on the Sam Roberts show. Just as I tuned in he was signing off and said "Rest In Peace Dusty Rhodes".

Whoa.

What? The American Dream is dead?

I've been sad when I have heard about celebrities die, getting older means that the people you grown up with... From actual people you know to people you idolize... will leave us more and more. It sucks.

None hit me harder than hearing Sam say that on air. I actually pulled off the road. Not to cry, although it did hit me emotionally, but to check online to confirm that was true.

Dusty Rhodes was one of the first wrestlers I was exposed to on television. Just like in metal we have the "Big 4" (Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, and Megadeth)... Dusty Rhodes was without a doubt deserving a place in the "Big 4" of Wrestling. I would say that 4 wrestlers (of my generation) would be Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Randy Savage, and Dusty. I'd really like to make it a big 5 so that Roddy Piper could be included, as he should be revered on the level of those other four, but that's an argument I can have in my head another day.

What I loved about Dusty was that he was just this big dude, over weight, had a lisp...not what many would consider a "prototype" for a superstar wrestler... Yet he gave us no reason to deny him that status.

A photo posted by JuniorMeave (@liberated_brews) on

In the ring he was electric. His charm engulfed the squared circle... He was entertaining us with his moves before it was even called "Sports Entertainment".

On the microphone... There was none better, "Daddy". It's a no brainer to include the "Hard Times" promo to illustrate that...

I remember even as a kid being pissed when he came to the WWF and he wasn't (in my eyes, and I know I'm not alone) shown the respect that he deserved. I think that was the first indication of my true obsession with wrestling... This was before internet dirt sheets... before the term smarks... But if those existed them, I'm sure I would have been all about complaining online that they need to give Dusty the push he deserves and give him the championship belt. When I remember Dusty I never think of the polka dot stuff or Sweet Sapphire. Although he made even that awesome, fun, and entertaining. When I think of Dusty... I think of that bloody wrassler with the "DR" on his trunks and the "Son Of A Plumber" t-shirt.

Sorry for the rambling blog, I typed this on my phone last night while watching Dusty matches on the WWE Network, being reminded of the greatness of the American Dream.

RIP Dusty Rhodes.

Steve Migs Blog 06/11/15 "The Test!"

Yesterday on The Migs Cast I shared my experience getting my yearly physical. This year wasn't you run-of-the-mill physical…sure I had to cough…sure the doctor took the little mallet against my knees…but this was my "I'm now 40" physical…so I had to get "the Test". Some don't have to until they are 50, but because it runs in the family, I had to get the dreaded prostate exam.

I have to say… I LOVED it. I can't wait to do it again!.

Both of those statements are a lie… I of course didn't enjoy it, but I am glad I buckled down and got it done. For a few seconds of being rather uncomfortable…I have peace of mind. I don't want to sound like a PSA, but get checked… yes, it's not fun…but it's your health we are talking about.
You can hear my full experience on this week's episode…plus you will find out why the music of Buckcherry popped in my head while something was being popped into something!

We have a group page for The Migs Cast on Facebook (search "The Migs Cast" and join… it's a place on facebook where you don't have to deal with negative crap), and one of our fine members of the community we have created, cesar, decided to create this gem…

Steve Migs Blog 06/10/15 - "Ridiculous Food Combos"

Not sure if you are looking to speed up the process for getting a heart attack…but if you are, I have a food tip for you! A 14-second video on how to make a grilled cheese wrapped in bacon…yes BACON… is blowing up on Facebook … I am pretty sure every other post on my news feed has been this video. It looks like I am not the only one, as it has been seen over 40 million times! The recipe is just bread and cheese, with ten pieces of bacon wrapped around it, and you cook each side for five to seven minutes….check it out:

Bacon Wrapped Grilled Cheese

Posted by BuzzFeed Food on Monday, June 8, 2015

I swear…we are trying to kill each other… in the best, most gluttonous way though. In the last few days I have seen stories about other crazy concoctions… like deep fried Slim Fast Bars (which seems like the ultimate middle finger to the health conscious):

Or the Pizza that now has a Hot Dog in the crust…

Or my favorite… have you seen this commercial? Because America!

Carl's Jr. has the best commercials!

Look…I'm not trying to poo poo people's eating desires…"poo poo" maybe not the best term to use…but Pizza and burgers are awesome as they are…must we put a hot dog in the mix? Hot dogs are incredible… do they need to be treated like a topping for other foods? Why must we diminish the greatness of a hot dog by not making it the focal point of the meal? However… I am cool with hot dogs being chopped up into Mac & Cheese… that is a perfect combo.

Steve Migs Blog 06/09/15 "Gotta Love Gronk"

As a Seahawks fan I want to not like Gronk…but everything he does just makes me want to spend a weekend partying with him. If you haven't seen his cameo in Entourage The Movie, he has an awesome scene… and here is another example to love Gronk!
Rob Gronkowski and David Ortiz are featured in a commercial for Dunkin' Donuts…and it's so bad, it's awesome…

This got me wondering… which Seattle sports stars would be perfect for a Seattle version of this song? Marshawn Lynch would have to be a definite…but after that, I am not sure. Felix would be fun if we are keeping the football baseball pairing… however, times like this make me wish that Ichiro was still around… he would be perfect! One texter suggesting this pairing: Beast mode and Edgar Martinez… solid suggestion. Part of me thinks it could be Lynch and Hope Solo…and she could just freak out on the Iced Coffee (similar to how Gronk spikes it at the end).

All jokes aside… props to Hope and the US Women's Soccer team for winning their first game in the World Cup yesterday!

This is one way to get your day going…the first song we played was System Of A Down… and Vicky & I approved!

That wasn't the only reason why I was instantly put into a good mood today… If you read my blog yesterday… I was raving about twenty one pilots…and I show up to work with this sitting on my desk!

Steve Migs Blog 06/08/15 "Hanging w/ twenty one pilots"

Over the weekend I didn't do too much…just watched a bunch of wrestling and hockey…Icaught up on Smackdown, and props to Rusev for delivering the funniest insult ever.

Yes, he said "Stupid Cow Woman".

Oh wait a second… I just realized that I did something awesome this weekend…Friday night, I attended a private performance by one of my favorite bands, twenty one pilots! Plus I got to meet them…which was very cool, as they couldn't have been nicer guys.

I have to give huge props to our friends downstairs at 107.7 The End, as Manly came up with a brilliant idea. They gave away passes for fans of the band to attend a "Skype Session" with twenty one pilots. So everyone there thought they were coming to watch an interview via Skype…not knowing the band was in town. During the Skype (or is it Skyping?...hell if I know)… the connection failed…and the band came out from behind the curtain. I can't tell you how cool this was… this band has a very loyal and passionate following… the look of shock on their faces was an awesome sight. Here is the video of when their fans realized they were about to see and meet them!

When you think you're Skyping with twenty one pilots but really you're getting a bigger surprise... #2minutepromise

Posted by 1077 The End on Friday, June 5, 2015

If you are not familiar with this band… do yourself a favor and check them out, they have a very eclectic unique sound… it's like indie rock meets hip hop meets pop meets EDM… all with a ukulele thrown in. Their new CD "Blurryface" debuted at number one on the Billboard charts, it's one of my favorite records of the year for sure… a perfect summertime record. Here are a couple songs off the record… this is my favorite song, "Fairly Local":

I love this song and video as well…it's called "Stressed Out":

I have been digging this song a lot recently, and the video is real cool.. it's called "Ride":

Finally… I wanted to share their performance of this song on Kimmel… just to give you a taste of their live show, this song is called "Tear In My Heart":

After their performance, I ran into Ted…and he had his "Larping Swords"…and Mike Hawk from The Mens Room caught us being goofs…

These swords are awesome!

I have a video for you fellow Hawks fans to get you pumped up. I had goosebumps while watching this! What are we, about 90 days until the season starts? Watch this and you will probably wish that the season starts tomorrow… I know I do!

Props to Alec Hickman for making this… Go Hawks!

Speaking of sports… there is a new book coming out that made me listen and digest an infamous moment completely differently.

Remember back in 2002 when basketball player Allen Iverson weren't on a rant about practice during a news conference – so much so that he repeated the phrase "we're talking about practice" 22 times! Up until now I never once thought that Allen might have been drunk! According to a new book…that might have been the case.

Journalist Kent Babb has a book called "Not a Game: The Incredible Rise and Unthinkable Fall of Allen Iverson", and he interviewed former Philadelphia 76ers president Pat Croce, former coach Larry Brown and former general manager Billy King. Was he drunk? Watch that press conference again…what do you think?

As you might know, I am a huge hockey fan…and game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals… I can not wait to watch the game. One thing that I love about this time (besides to obvious that is the on ice action) is that the NHL always knocks it out of the park (or Rink.. waka waka) with their commercials to promote the finals. This year's commercial is AWESOME…check it out!

Although I love this year's spot…this commercial for a past year will always be my favorite…

Steve Migs Blog 06/04/15 "Hold A Coke Bottle Up With... What?!?"

Have you heard about the newest version of the Ice Bucket Challenge? There is a new social media trend called the "Hold a Coke With Your Boobs Challenge." Yup…the name of it is pretty self explanatory…and awesome! Women are posing with a can or bottle of Coke between their breasts, to raise awareness for breast cancer.

We decided to have the member of our show with the largest breasts do it… so here you go…

Ok…sorry! If you really want to see some awesome submissions…go to Facebook and check out the page called: Hold A Coke With Your Boobs Challenge.

Remember when The Beatles discovered mind altering drugs like LSD and next thing you know their sound changed…they started getting more experimental with their music… hell, even wrote a song called Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds (get it? L.S.D.).

Well, the same very thing seems to be happening in the world of hip hop. There is a talented rapper by the name of A$AP Rocky… and I was listening to his new record yesterday (which is incredible), and it seem's like this is his "Sgt. Pepper" moment. He has a song called "L.$.D." – at times in the song he tries to make it seem like that stands for "Love, Sex, Dream"…but if you listen to the lyrics and watch the video…it's very apparent what's up… hell… he even whispers "acid" in the middle of the song!

Last night Thee Ted Smith and I recorded a new episode of The MegaCast, and if you listen to our show…we incorporate new music of all genres into the podcast, and when we listened to this song…it stopped us in our tracks. Listen to this week's episode here…and please share it with your friends!

Steve Migs Blog 06/03/15 "Entourage Is Out Today!"

This kid is my new hero… only if my conspiracy theory is true!

A high school senior in New Jersey named Patrick Smith asked a girl to prom in front of 2,000 people at some sort of pep rally in April. The bummer for him is that she said no, because she already had a date! Of course his friends were there to record it…and share it on Twitter for everyone to enjoy!

They are still friends, and he was able to find a date.

Here is my theory… if these two were in cahoots, this kid is a genius. What better way to get a date than to be shot down and become a viral video sensation. She didn't just flat out reject him, she just said she already has a date… I am sure there were a bunch of classmates that felt bad for him and in turn would be more than willing to date him. Genius, I tell ya! Genius! This could be the plot of a really bad romantic comedy… emphasis on really bad. Like Lifetime movie of the week bad. It could star Frankie Muniz as the rejected teen. Sure his 30 or something, but he still looks young!

Today is the big day! Entourage The Movie is in theaters. Be sure to go see this movie! I already saw it, and I am planning on seeing it again.

If you missed it when they joined us in studio, check out part of our chat with the fellas…

Steve Migs Blog 06/02/15 "Jolene's Last Ride...and Floating!"

Ahhh we are back live… I have to say I am so excited to be back to doing the show after this vacation… but there is one thing I am not too keen about…and I tweeted about it…

My buddy Mitch had the best reply to this tweet…

While we were off, I was lucky enough to be in town so that I could come to work on Friday! Why would I be so excited to come to work you ask? Friday was Jolene's final show as she has decided to retire from radio and pursue happiness elsewhere. I got to spend some time on air with Jolene, and share some fun stories…and Iron Mike captured a great pic of us!

You can hear all of the show HERE -- as she had plenty of surprise guest like Duff McKagan, Sean Kinney of Alice
In Chains, and our dog… Ricker!

I plan on talking more about this on The Migs Cast today, but while we were off I "Floated" for the first time!

I loved it so much, that I went to FLOAT Seattle twice last week. I will go more into detail today on the podcast (which you will be able to find HERE once it's posted)…but I have never felt more refreshed…both physically and mentally!
