FOOD & DRINK: Butterfinger Peanut Butter Cups Are Coming!
Reese's Peanut Butter Cups are one of the most amazing candies in the world. They are chocolate-peanut butter perfection, and the fact that they are one of the top three chocolate candies on the market, proves just that. But in just a few more months there will be a new peanut butter cup on the block, and the competition could get cut throat.
Nestlé is launching Butterfinger Peanut Butter Cups, which they say will change the traditional peanut butter cup forever. “It’s the classic peanut butter cup,” Jeremy Vandervoet of Nestlé USA toldTODAY.com, “only Butterfingerized.”
The new candy will have a creamy peanut butter center and, of course, a milk chocolate coating, but there will be bits of Butterfinger in it for crunch and texture. They are also square instead of circle-shaped like the Reese's original.
Nestlé tested the product on thousands of tasters until the proportions of the three main ingredients were just right, and they are now apparently "scoring through the roof" according to Vandervoet. We'll just have to wait until January to find out for ourselves!
