Thee Ted Smith

    As I said in my last blog I am very happy to see the sun back shining and a great sunset tonight by the way. So this weekend is the Super Bowl and you know that people are fired up but sometimes I wonder why. It is kind of unreal how the Super bowl has turned into a Holiday almost in this country. I know so many people that could really care less about football but they love to go to Super Bowl parties. Hell even when you watch all the Super Bowl stuff it is pretty much about the party there as well. It does seem like a cool event that I would like to go to at least once in my life. I can't imagine how fun it is to go to a Super Bowl when you team is playing but its got to be awesome. I sometimes think though what is the best event to go to. I think I would rather go to a National Championship game for college football. I also enjoy soccer so maybe the best one to go to is the final of the Champions league. There are so many different kinds of things. I would have to imagine if you are a Nascar fan you would want to see the Daytona 500. I just thought about Nascar since sweet home Alabama is playing right now. I love that song but I am not a Nascar guy. I like most things in the south but not Nascar. BBQ I really like and I feel like BBQ of some sort is at all of these events. This blog is going off the rails and I am clearly hungry. I am going to grab some meat and grill tonight. The sun is back, I repeat the sun is back. I was happy to see our friend return this week as I need some sunshine in my life. Now today on the show during TV time with Ted I talked about how I had read a blog post about what the actual date is on Ice Cubes famous song "It was a good day". If you like Ice Cube at all then you know this song and to be honest if you ever listened to any rap you know this song. So the first guy took some dates from the song and came up with what he though was the date

Now whatever date you believed Cube was talking about it was a good day. More than likely in no way was Cube ever really talking about a real day but if he had that would have been a day to write a song about.

    Wow great moon out tonight right now. So last night I went home and had some fun. Now your probably wondering like hey Ted what kind of fun did you have so I will not lie it was a lot of hookers and drugs and Charlie Sheen was there. Ok none of that is true. I really went home and fired up the grill and cooked some chicken breast and some broccoli. A little olive oil and season to taste on that broccoli and then you grill it. It is awesome so trust me on that. So after I fired up the grill and got that going I decided to settle into a college basketball game. I was watching the Maryland VS Duke game. I hate Duke.

    So after I got over how upset I was losing to Duke once again (losing to Duke is like losing to Portscum for my SSFC brothers) I watched a show on national Geographic Channel called Drugs Inc. This one happen to be about hallucinogens and the effects certain ones have on people. When I think about drugs like acid and magic mushrooms I think of hippies in the woods seeing stuff but i was blown away how some of them were really helping people with serious problems. One guy had these unreal cluster headaches so he would take mushrooms once every two months and now he is cluster free. Drugs are a crazy world sometimes because some that can really help they will make legal since they cant turn a profit on them. That statement makes me thing maybe Method Man was right years ago. Cash moves everything around me. CREAM

    What a wild week man. So the winter storm came through and we got snowed on here in the city of Seattle. Earlier this week I blogged about liking the snow and I do but even I am at the point now why I am happy it is melting. I do understand what the problem is in this area with snow. The streets are damn steep and I agree since that it only snows once of maybe twice a year that spending a bunch of money on snow stuff is silly. Either way I hope if your reading this blog you have power and hot water. Side note you need a hot shower bad guy

    Now one thing I have also noticed it that when there is snow around it somehow seems like a holiday type atmosphere. I went out a couple nights and people were real excited. I also realize that I am old since at no point did I even try and go sledding in the snow. I went sledding down Denny once with my buddies Phil and Rob. It was a great night but I did not listen to Phil and rode a sled down the street and hit a curb and ended up with a football growing off my leg that night. I did toss a couple snowballs so I guess that counts. Today my Mom said this blog is more just like my ramblings and if you read this one she is write.     So I am not sure if you know this about me but I love mascots. I like mascots a lot because they are big and funny. I am sure that little mascots are cool too but when you get a big funny thing as your mascot you have hit gold. I am talking to you Otto. Who is Otto your wondering? well look him up. I am going to drop some mascot names in this blog and I want you to try and figure out who I am talking about. A small hint is that they will be college mascots.

    Big Al is another huge funny mascot and you should know that one as he got some serious camera time just this week. The scariest mascot is Mike. Now its up to Mike 14th. I think one of the nicest mascots I have met was Smokey. He was real down to earth and he even smelled me. I think one of the most proper mascots I have met is Bill but hey Bill represents a serious place. I feel like a lot of people round here are fans of Butch as well. You should be able to figure out that last one. I would like to meet UGA one day since he is a icon and just plan cool looking. Bevo is maybe one of the biggest but like Mike he is a real animal. My niece used to like him but now that she is older I think she prefers Jeter to Bevo. So hopefully you can figure out who everyone is. Enjoy the weekend everyone. You know I will

    Alright none of you people ever bothered to email so I am now official changing the start of the blog. Now that I say none of you bothered to send me a email is assuming people read this blog which is not to likely. Lets be honest if you are a big KISW fan you like the station and read Thrills big brown blog and STP's blog but you ant reading this thing are ya? Well I going to keep writing it so someday this will become the most popular blog on the station. Well a guy can hope right?

    So this blog today is about your happy place. Now I am writing about my happy place because it is Tuesday and I am going to my happy place tonight. Its a place that calms me down and makes me happy. Its the grocery store. Now I like all kinds of grocery stores weather its a Safeway or a QFC and sometimes I have been known to hit up a whole foods. Whole foods is pricy so I don't shop there as much as the others. Tonight I am going to the Safeway because it is the closest one to me. I am a short fat guy so maybe that's why I love the grocery store or maybe because my Mom always took me as a kid either way I love that place and sometimes wonder what other people's happy place is? Have a good night and shop on my friends shop on.

    What up blogger? So I have not heard yet if anyone cares if I change how I start these so maybe I should just change it since it is my blog and I can do whatever I want on here. Well that's a lie but I can do a lot since I don't think anyone from work ever reads this. I know that I am getting older but when you plan your summer out in early January like I am you feel real old all of a sudden. The good news is I am planning my summer out so I can hit fun spots and see Montana again.

    So I have been watching this show on the History channel called Big Shrimpin' and for no good reason at all I like it. Now I feel like there are so many reality work shows now that you can't help but to like one or two of them just for dumb reasons. Now as I do work in radio I am allowed access to certain things and one of them is the fact that most of these shows are scripted out completely. There don't know what people are going to say but the scenes are all set up. Now even with that knowledge, I still like this show. I think deep down I just have a infinity towards people from the dirty south. So this show is great because they are southern and dirty and you can't understand a damn word they be sayin ya'll.

    What up blogger? First off its a new year so I am thinking about maybe changing the way I start this blog. Now do you guys think this is a good idea or a bad one. Let me know what you think TheeTedSmith@KISW.com I might need a change. Change is always good and lord knows this blog could use some right. The toughest part about this blog is writing it when people keep talking to me. I have a hard time keeping a train of thought. And with that Castle just walked in so I am now really confused about what I am talking about.

    So it's no secret at all that I am a huge college football fan, so this blog should not surprise you at all. While I do agree with my brother Chris that it was better when all the games were in the same few days I do like having a couple games on everyday. It does still blow my mind that some of the crappy bowls are being played after the BCS ones. That just seems ass backwards. Yeah I saw that great Rose Bowl but I am fired up too watch some MAC teams play later this week. This is a sentence that you will never hear. The thing about college football is it is flawed in the way they get that much money but don't get paid, now on the other hand when you watch it its awesome. Some people don't like college because mistakes happen that why i love it because they do make mistakes and miss field goals...
