Sun is out and so is the Men's Room as tomorrow we have the first ever RedFest down in Georgetown at the Elysian Brewery. All four of us are fired up and hope that you will be there as well. To start off you get a cool mug and a couple beers with your ticket and we know Elysian makes some good beer. After a couple beers you might think well I sure could use some food and bam three different food trucks will be there. So now we are all having fun and eating good food and the last part of this puzzle gets put together as we have local bands The Mothership and Van Eps hitting the stage. The weather is going to be nice and I can't wait, I hope you got your ticket but if you did not you can walk up tomorrow and get your ticket at the event. As you can tell from this post I am real excited and I love having events like this because it is great to get to shake hands and meet people that are fans of the show and the beer. I hope you see you tomorrow and ladies feel free to bring some cute friends
Today we see very sad news in the case of NFL football player Arron Hernandez. Now I say sad because he was charged with murder and someone lost a life. Not only that but someone also lost a son and a family member and murder is not acceptable. Sometimes I wonder about a guy like Arron, why would this happen? The guy just signed a huge contract last year and was becoming a household name and then he kill's someone over a beef. This is why I titled this growing up and that you have to be better than this at a early age of young twenties. Now I don't know much about the guy but I am guessing he grew up some where in a tough neighborhood were gun violence was the answer but clearly it is not and he never grew up. This is a extreme example of not changing your ways but it also should be a lesson for young people out there. The message is that you have to grow up and change how you think about things, being hard get's you two places in life Jail and Death. You might just be the guy that gets in bar brawls and thinks its fun but one day something is going to give. Imagine how you would feel when you punch a guy and he falls on his head and dies. Also at times when you get older you have to choose friends and stop hanging out with some. Growing up is hard and you will make mistakes as I have but please try to change and evolve into a adult because now in Boston we have a lost life and a lost life in jail. A damn shame this stuff happens
On Saturday I went to the Solstice parade in Fremont and it was a lot of fun. It was also the day of the Rock and Roll marathon in Seattle and over all just a great day to be in the city. I called this blog different people because I realized on Saturday that everyone was having their own kind of fun. Some people got up and ran a half or whole marathon that they had been training for and got to reach their goal. My friends and I were happy to play Frisbee for half the morning at gas works park then over to the Parade. I was blown away by all the different people out at the parade and how much different fun they were having. Some people you could tell had started drinking early and some you could tell were just out of their minds that day and not because of booze. Since it is Washington clearly their was some weed smokers in the group but I would not know about that myself. After the parade we took a car over to Golden Gardens to watch the sunset and chill by a fire. When we got there it was even a different group that had been there all day, people playing volleyball and just chilling on the beach. The fire was going and just chilling on the beach in the sand with the super moon up above. It was a great day and fun to watch all the different groups and how they interacted with fun. The only people I was jealous of was one party boat I saw go by full of beer and chicks, they guy yelled swim out to us and I almost did. Hope your Saturday was fun as well and you found your fun
Sometimes in life it can be hard to forget about someone in your past. Now for me it is often a girl and that's why last night was so personal and great to see. Years ago when I was living in PG county I remember watching Spike Lee's movie "Do the right thing" and while it is a powerful movie with a message I really remember one thing and that is Rosie Perez. Now if you remember the scene with the ice cube then I am sure you remember how hot she was. I still think she is hot for the record. Now I have never met Rosie before in my life but to me she was always an important part. Do I even have to reference the movie "White men can't jump" yeah she was awesome in that as well. Billy, I can hear it in her voice and it still makes me smile and wonder why Bill ever risked it all when he could have her. I feel a lot of other men can name the woman that got them fired up for the first time as well. I guess for girls in my age group my Rosie thing is like NKOTB. Also just should mention that crazy ass Mariah Carey is always a favorite of mine as well from the old school. That Honey video is all I have to say about that.
Last night was a fun sports night for the summer time. When I got home I started with the World Cup qualifier between the USA and Honduras. Let me start by saying that this game was not the most exciting but ended well. The first half was boring as Honduras is a better team than Panama held a tight defensive posture but the second half opened up a bit and the USA got a 1-0 victory and three important points. This game was huge because it basically put the USA into the world cup that is coming up in 2014 in Brazil. Now after that game I switched over to game 6 of the NBA Finals. I have said before I am not a huge basketball fan but that game last night was awesome. I thought when the forth quarter started and Labron James went off that well this is going to a seventh game. Like any good playoff game I then quickly changed my mind as the Heat started to fold and it looked to me that this series was not going seven and the San Antonio Spur's were going to win the Championship right there on the Heat's home court. Again I was wrong as time ran out the Heat were desperate and get a rebound it goes out to Ray Allen on the wing and boom we have overtime. The game went back and fourth a lot and was a great one, I for one can't wait until game 7 on Thursday night.
Tonight here in Seattle is a world cup qualifier game for the United States Men's National Team to see if they can make the World Cup in Brazil in 2014. Panama is the team that the USMNT is playing tonight and they are pretty good. It is very exciting for many reason like the fact Seattle has not had a World Cup qualifier since 1976. That's a long time and this city has shown time and time again that Seattle is the top place in America to watch soccer without a doubt. Some of the other exciting facts are that Brad Evans who is a Sounder had the game winning goal on Friday to take all three points in a match in Jamaica and fellow Sounder Eddie Johnson is also on the USMNT roster tonight. The match will be on ESPN and should be watched by thousands all over the USA. I for one have never been to a World Cup qualifier and I can't wait. I do go to a bunch of the Sounders FC matches as a season ticket holder but this one is different and means more. It's simple to me and that is that when the World Cup is going on in Brazil in 2014 the USA better be playing. These games are so important because you have to play well to get to the next round, and unlike pro sports you have to wait four years to get back into a World Cup. Going to be a fun night I hope to see you there
Yesterday news broke that a few baseball players are going to get long suspensions for Performance enhancing Drugs or PED's as I will call them for the rest of this blog. It's one thing to get caught cheating like these guys did but to me there is a whole bigger issue with this one and that is Ryan Braun. If you don't know who he is let me catch you up a little, he won the MVP in 2011 for baseball and tested dirty. Now he bet the rap and got to keep his title as MVP but when he beat the drug rap he also made a point of destroying everyone involved in the process. He even went after the guy who collected the pee, why would a guy who's job it is to collect pee have a grudge against a MVP like Braun. This reminds a ton of Lance Armstrong and the way that he denied everything and attacked people because he thought he was above the law. Look I get making bad choices and mistakes but be a grown up and own up to them. I say be a grown and not be a man because it has nothing to do with being a man it's about being a person. If you want to lie about what you did to get so far that's fine, but why try and take down this guy and ruin his life because your a liar. This to me a big issue we have in sports is the arrogance of these people. I really do think some of these people are just plain bad people and not to be trusted much less role models.
I for my job post often of Facebook and I will often post pictures of girls I deem hot because as a guy I like to look at hot girls. Now the thing that blows me away every time is that I post a picture other girls have to talk crap about the girls right away. I don't post pictures of myself shirtless because I don't have the body for it but I don't get mad if another guy has a six pack. Good for him he worked harder than I did to get it. Also guys are not as dumb as some people would have you believe. I realize that a lot of these girls I post have fake boobs and yes I realize that they are not interested in me but I still want to look and post pictures of hot chicks because hot chicks are great to look at. I know a lot of women that went to see Magic Mike but the difference is after they saw the movie I did not point out that most men don't look like that because they know they went to a movie and it's fantasy. That's what bugs me the most is why everyone things that guys are so dumb and why cut down on other women. Yesterday I posted about talking to hot chicks all day on Saturday and someone said "Since they are hot, that makes them whores you think" NO NO NO, not at all really. I like to talk to girls and most of the time I know it's going no where but I still want to chat them up. When you leave nasty comments about girls as a girl on Facebook everyone can you too and they can see your insecurities through your words. I guess in the end maybe I don't understand women but I tell you one thing I understand being mean for no reason which is the way it comes off.
