Super bowl 1/31/14
It is Friday and a very Blue Friday since the Seahawks are in the Super Bowl this Sunday. Now as I have stated before I am a Redskins fan being as I grew up in the DC area (Shout out to PG County) l am though caught up in the Seahawks fun. I have lived in the city for nine years and for me I am pumped to see all the people of this town get a Super Bowl win. As a season ticket holder for the Seattle Sounders FC I have also put in a lot of time at the C-Link myself and know how ready this city is for a champion. I am also fired up for Seattle to win for many reason's but has to be for just how much fun the city is right now. People are in it to win it together and I don't know that I have ever seen this town more fired up then right now. My thoughts on the game are very simple I have always believed that defense and running the ball wins championships and I think that will prove true in this game and after a hard fought game the Hawks pull out a gutty win in the fourth quarter. Also I believe that the kickers will play a important part in the Super Bowl. Clearly special teams are always part of the game but I feel they will have a huge impact in the Seahawks winning on Sunday. So enjoy the day and the game and be safe, but most important for this weekend is Go Hawks

Media Day 1/29/14
Media day at the Super Bowl is a crazy day where all types of people from the media show up and ask questions. Now some of the questions are legit and there is a ton of sports reporters there but there is also a lot of silly questions. People dress up and to be honest media day is about the media being on show as well as the players. If you are a football fan I don't have to explain to you the zoo that is media day but I thought the Seahawks handled it very well. Now there is some truth to the fact not one single Seahawk has ever played in a Super Bowl but on the same token from what I saw it appeared to me that the Seahawks are ready for action. A few years ago I had some buddies on Sounders that would hang with from time to time and I remember seeing them the week of a playoff game and their demeanor was a lot different than the rest of the season. I saw that kind of change in the Seahawks at media day, while they are enjoying it I like the fact they were all so serious. I also like the fact the Pete Carroll put the game plan in last week so they could have a normal practice week. The wait is almost over and this town is about to burst at the seems. Should be a hell of a weekend in town and I can't wait for the game either

Winter weather 1/24/14
This has to be one of the warmest winters I have been a part of since I moved to Seattle 9 years ago. I see that all my old friends back east are covered in snow and cold. I talked to my one buddy today and he told me that is was in the teens this morning. Now climate change is not a good thing by any means but I will take 50 and sun in January. I would also warn people though that everything has a cause and effect in my mind and while the weather is great now it will be bad at some point this year. I remember the first year I lived here it was sunny for three straight weeks and then the gloom came and it sucked. I would say get out there and enjoy the sun while it is out there since it will be gone soon. I realize how much I talk about weather in this blog but I like weather and watching weather. I consider myself some what of a weather nerd. I think part of it comes back to when I was a kid I remember my brother and I watching weather reports about snow and got into it. I think watching thunderstorms is fun and same with snow. I am not looking forward to the June gloom but I am a realist and know at some point when have to make up for all this nice weather. Have a great weekend

Now What? 1/23/14
It happened and it ended the way you wanted it to with he Seattle Seahawks going to the Super bowl. So now I have some important questions for you Seahawks fans.  Number one is are you ready for the void of no football on the weekends. See the Super Bowl is great but now what to do on Sunday's? I would say get back to what you usually do on Sunday's in the off season and re-connect with your family or dog. Another question is are you ready for the Super Bowl next week. I am sure you have already started talking about plans with friends and different bars that will be showing the game. I also would think even if your local bar is not a sports bar they will still have the Super Bowl on because the Seahawks are in it. It is also not just about what to do and where to watch it but also what to eat and drink. See the holidays just ended a month ago and without football you really have no reason to be cooking up dips and good tasting food that is unhealthy. A lot of things for you the 12th man to think about. As always if you are having a cool party of something shoot me a email and let me know about it. I respect parties and food and drink. Drop me a line and let me know how your party is the best. Rest up this weekend, you will need it next weekend.

Championship Sunday 1/17/14
So here it is Seahawks fans it is the NFC championship against you top rival at home. If you are one of the many, many Seahawks fans this is awesome. Having home field advantage is what the Seahawks worked so hard for all year and now the city is about to explode. There was a rally today down at Westlake center for the Hawks and all the buildings have green and blue lights. It is a super exciting time and I feel great for all the fans that have been there with this team for a while. I would say a couple important things for the game this week. Number one is have fun pre-game and enjoy some friendly banter with other fans and out of town fans. Number two is be loud, I don't really have to remind you that because as a member of the 12th man you know that. Number three is enjoy the whole day and clearly that will be easier if the Seahawks win but really games like this in your town are rare so have a hell of day 12th man. Drink a light beer for your boy Ted

Playoff Football Fans 1/15/14
Wow is all I have to say after what I saw last weekend going on at the Seahawks game. Now I am from PG county Maryland which is basically DC since I grew up right near the city line. As a DC person I am a Redskins fan but even I have been impressed with some of the things going on this year with the Seahawks. This blog is more about you the fans then the team though. See here is the deal as much as I love certain teams and players I really like just the atmosphere around sports and people. That is why I am so impressed with the 12th man this year. I was driving home from my girlfriends house in West Seattle Saturday morning and I was so impressed to see people already set up for tailgates. I got home and watched some local news and saw people were in full tailgate form by ten in the morning which I loved. I realize that I like tailgates as much as going to the game most of the time and tailgates are great. It is a great time to hang with buddies and talk trash. For some of my buddies we don't get to hang as much as we used too but we always get some time to hang out at the Sounders FC matches. When I lived at home and went to Maryland games all the time the tailgate is a family get together. So in closing weather the Seahawks win or lose this weekend you 12th man people are doing your best and rolling along. I will cheer for them for no other reason then out of respect for you guys out there doing work. I might not you and you don't know me but 9am tailgate guy....I respect you

New Years 1/9/14
So the New Year is here and how are you doing? I do think that it is good that people take this time to look inside themselves and take stock of their life and health. I just hope people stick with it and don't give up after the newness has wore off. I know some people that have gone through changes in their life but I know very few who started on New Years Day. I think New Years is a good time to start thinking and start implement these changes. I believe that sometimes people just bite off more than they can chew with new crazy workout retunes and diets that they can't possible stick too. Now I know a little more about this then most since at my biggest I was 360 and even though I still struggle with my weight I have kept that over a hundred pounds off for years. That is my point about that every New Years I would try some crazy thing then put it all back on then some extra. I think this time off year is good to look inward and take stock in what you want to do the next year coming up but also don't freak out if you mess up a little. Just stick with it and make this year count, the whole year not just this month.
