This week Late Night with Seth Myers kicked off after Jimmy Fallon moved to The Tonight Show at 11:30pm. Now I will not lie some of the first couple episodes have been not great and some moments of Seth looking uncomfortable but it is his first week. I think that is some of the things I want people to sit back and realize that these shows talk time to develop into show's you like and are used to seeing. Conan O'Brian was not awesome when he first started and don't forget Jimmy Kimmel fist week of shows was almost stopped because he had a bar and drunk people on the show. I was not that old when Conan started but I remember people thinking not only was he the wrong choice but he sucked in general. these types of shows take a while to get going and get their feel down. I am not sure that Seth Myers is the right choice but on the same token I do think with a show like that we have to at least give him a year to figure it out and let's revaluate then. The Seahawks did not just roll into New York and win this year it was a team that had been building for two years. Time is brutal but sometimes you just have to give it time
Two days and two defeats in a row by Canada. Yesterday it was the women's team from the USA going up against Canada in the gold medal game in the Olympics. The USA and Canada have a very heated rivalry in women's hockey and the USA seemed poised to finally get over the hump and beat the Canadian team and win the gold in the Olympics. The USA was up almost the entire game and then with just three minutes left in the game the Canadians scored a goal. At this point it got tense and then the dagger that came in was a goal to tie the game with under a minute to go. Once the game went into overtime it seemed like a fore gone conclusion and that the Canadian team would win and they did. No worries though since our men's team will beat the evil Canadians today, evil is a joke. I thought like a lot people that the USA would win today based purely out of pride and thinking with my heart. Well I got up early today and did some things then tuned into the USA VS Canada game which was a rematch from the 2010 gold medal game. Well it turns out Canada is real good in hockey and you are right to think that they won again. That's the toughest thing about the Olympics is that you have to wait four more years for the games again.
Sometime in life and honestly a lot of time in life it is hard. Now we all know this and accept it but for some reason so many of us still want to hide from our problems. I think most people know on some level what the problem is but yet they do not want to address the problem. The other thing that may shock you is if you do address the problem and have that conversation it might go better then you think and you might get a different reaction then you think. People like to bitch and everyone does it, it is part of being human but hiding from problems never helps anything. Also you have to be realistic about some problems as well. For me I know that I struggle with weight and have for years and will continue too. The point I am making is I can sit around blaming other and blaming food or I can as I have choose to do something about it. I can't really be upset about gaining a pound or two if I was eating burgers and fries for dinner. Other things in life as well we just have to confront them and see it though. As someone that for years used to run and hide trust me it does nothing and do sit around thinking about something that bugs and do nothing. Why let someone else win and control your head is just silly and just saying out loud that you are over something and your fine is a lie. Life can so tough sometimes but it is also a ton of great times, be you but be strong and face reality head on. Also don't let other define you, I work in radio I care what people think about me but I won't let it define me.
These days it is very hard to tell who are friends and who are not. I bring this up because I feel like the word friend has gotten deluded with Facebook friends. These people for the most part are not your fiends and are people you know but not really friendly with. I think friend is a word that should mean something. Now I have lot of people I know and they know me but I don't think I would say we are friends. Some of these people are just people I know though other people as well. Everyone is going to have different views on friendship as they see it but I think you should have some good friends and from time to time you are going to lean on each other. Also most of the friends I would say are good friends I have had issues with. I think it is a lot like family and who has not had a issue in their family before, also if you are reading this and saying I have never had a issue in my family someone is lying to you. Friends are a important part of life in my opinion and they should be. Also it is valentines day and even though I am not a fan of it I will remind everyone that has a girl to get a card. Not saying go crazy but you better at the very least have that card my man, I got mine on Tuesday myself
Today as I walked in to work with the glorious sunshine and warm temperatures on my back I realized we are back to normal in the city. It is not just the weather either, when I say back to normal I mean all the Super Bowl excitement is done as well. The holidays ended but January was like a extension of the holidays because it was so fun and it was a excuse to drink and eat chicken wings and snacks. The parade was last week as well and the excitement lasted until the weekend and then boom it was over. Friday night was a pretty quite night in Seattle and then Saturday night there was snow so it was shut down by midnight. I think that people were fine with the snow and it gave them a reason to stay in last weekend as everyone in this town seemed to be a bit hung-over from Super Bowl Sunday. This week the rain returned with some strong winds and we got snow up in the mountains which is great for them and snow boarders out there. Today we got one of those nice sunny Seattle winter days for now but I am sure the rain will be back for my walk home, like I said back to normal.
Sunday was the day the city had been waiting for and it was better then people could even imagine. It was a blow out and granted I was kind of drunk but it never really seemed to be much of a question who was going to win that game. The Seahawks dominated from the jumped helped out by a bad Denver mistake to make it a quick two to nothing lead. By the way that was good use of the word two and too suckas. I watched the game with a good sized group of people and it was a already a party in full swing when I got there but after the start of the second half it was on. People were so happy and nice the whole day. It was really one of the coolest things I have ever been a part of being in Seattle the last couple of weeks. I have never seen people so excited and everyone was into showing love to Seattle if you have ever lived here. I was a little shocked how it appeared the whole rest of the country was cheering for Denver but I think a lot of people had a bad impression of the Seahawks as people. Payton Manning is the standard smart white quarter-back that people seem to like and feel good if he won but the hell with that. Every year people clearly have a reason on why they pick which team they want to win the super bowl but its harsh when you live in the city no one picks. Also I think Seattle does not have a long past of winning Super bowls so people don't cheer for them. Tomorrow is the parade and you better be going. Take off from work or school or whatever it has to be and go see the parade tomorrow. I am hoping to see you there
