Rock Blog: Green Day is Coming to the PNW!

January 9, 2017

What’s better than Christmas morning for a pop-punk kid? When Green Day announce that they are coming to town on tour for their newest release “Revolution Radio” of course!

That’s right, Green Day have announced they’re coming to the great PNW on August 1st, kicking off the summer leg of their North American Tour right here in Auburn at the White River Amphitheater.

Tickets go on sale THIS FRIDAY (1/13) at www.greenday.com

As I mentioned above, they are supporting their newest album “Revolution Radio”, if you haven’t checked it out yet, here are my must listen tracks that you can check out in preparation for the show:

“Still Breathing”

We all remember Billie Joe’s “meltdown” right? This song is about his recovery, and coming out with new music, and a new perspective.

“Bang Bang”

The first single off of their new album, harkening back to old school Green Day, with tones of “American Idiot” and “21 Century Breakdown”. This song is sure to get you going in the morning, and ready for the pit at the show.

“Ordinary World”

It was a big year for Billie Joe, not just because of the new album, touring extensively, and endless promo, but he also had a chance to give his acting skills a try. And I am not talking about a cameo like he did in “This is 40”, Bille took to the screen playing a middle aged punk rock dad, struggling with getting old and life in “Ordinary World”.

This track was the theme for the movie, and a slower, stripped down song. The movie and the song speaks to anyone who knows what growing up is like, especially after attending shows, playing in a band, and struggling to find your identity in middle age. It may be my favorite track on the album.

Check out their entire album on iTunes, and get your tickets on Friday!

It’s about time to bring that teen angst out again, right?
