ROCK BLOG: Safeco Field - August 19th!

February 7, 2017

To all of you writers out there, I'm guessing you know the best time to tackle a project is when you feel exactly how you feel in the moment.  There's never a "right" time.  To produce something authentic, I say just start writing, regardless of your mood. That's what's happening now, despite being on the 7th day of the flu and pneumonia, I'm choosing healthy escapism through this blog.  Oh, the utter madness!!  Let's ROLL with the madness!!

Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers just announced they will play Safeco Field on August 19th as an added show to their 40th Anniversary Tour, with The Lumineers as special guests. Tickets go on sale this Monday, February 13th!  Tickets will be available HERE.

CRANKING "American Girl" right now, and I mean LOUD.  Ahhhhhhhh...already feeling better.  BRING it on, bitch!  My desk here at home is literally shaking, along with my flu infested 7-day untoned, pasty body.  Oh, the MADNESS!  Here ya go before we get going.  Let's get on the same page.  BLARE it with NEW ears.  Remember...music cures ALL.

Feel any better?  If not, you might have to try again, but this time LOUDER.  I'll wait for you.

How about this one? Come on, let's get MAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Name which 1991 movie "American Girl" was featured in??  Only one of the best films EVER!!  Silence of the Lambs.  I'm a sick individual, and this scene is actually how I got hooked on that song.  It's right before he abducts her.  So fun.  Wow.

Are you still with me?  If so, I must say that you are equally as twisted, or you're just curious to where this blog will go next, which also makes you sick.

Okay, so there are those out there from the younger generation that hear the band name, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and think "Like, OMG...aren't they like OLD???".  In fact, that generation probably has no clue how much Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers have had some sort of influence on the music they enjoy today.  Also, the music they enjoy today, will be criticized by their children in the exact same way 20 years from now.

Formed in 1976 out of Gainesville, FL.  40 DAMN years for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers!  That stands for a crap-ton!  Bringing easily relatable (blue collar) music and lyrics to the world, they have, and STILL are providing a much needed outlet to us human beings.  For the younger generation, who think a band hasn't "suffered" if they haven't gone through drug addiction, well Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers had their addiction bouts.  Tom Petty actually became a heroin addict in the 90's.  Howie Epstein of the Heartbreakers, left the band because of his heroin addiction.  He never recovered, though.  I bring this up, only to show how easy it would have been for them to quit.

Oooooooh, goody-goody gumdrops!!  Such a good one!  Oh, the madness!  BAM!

These guys are incredible.  To be 40 years into a music career and still have the chops to play a venue like Safeco Field?!  Righteously insane to the max.  Mad respect.  I know that their music has sure helped me this past hour, along with many, many instances in my 38 years on this planet.  It was an honor for a peon like to me to share a bit about them.

This one's for YOU, darlin'.  Much love!!!!  Always be YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
