At the end of last night's epic Hell in a Cell match between Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens, we were treated to the ultimate swerve. As Shane O Mac stood on top of the ominous steel structure, staring down at Owens' limp body laying on the commentary table below, a certain red-headed wrestler had a different plan. Just as Shane came down with a huge elbow from 30+ feet above, Sami Zayn rescued KO from the ultimate doom, grabbing him at the last second and forcing the Smackdown Commisioner to crash through the table violently. Zayn then picked KO up and placed him on top of Shane, allowing his one time friend and long time rival to get the victory.

There is a lot of history between Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, but within the past few years, they've had a bitter, unending feud that has seen them go head to head countless times in extremely gnarly matches leaving both competitors bruised and bloody. Going back to their formative years wrestling on the indie scene in both Ring of Honor and PWG, Zayn and Owens - then known as El Generico and Kevin Steen - were an amazing tag team. The two grew up together in Quebec, breaking into the scene at the same time, so that is what made things so much more meaningful when Steen eventually turned on Generico, leading to a year-long blood feud between the former best friends.

We will have to wait until tomorrow night to see what the whole story is between Owens and Zayn, but one thing is certain - these two have a magical amount of chemistry together and whatever happens will certainly be both brutal and entertaining.

Here are some clips from Zayn and Owens' past. The first match is the duo as a tag team, the second is a gnarly battle between the two from their indie days.
