Mike McCready of Pearl Jam Opens Up About Dave Abbruzzese Rock Hall Snub

June 6, 2017

Rolling Stone reported on an interview of Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready, and according to the article, McCready recently opened up about former drummer Dave Abbruzzese’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame snub.

Quick refresher:  When it was announced that Pearl Jam was to be induced into the RRHOF, only the band’s current drummer, Matt Cameron, and one previous drummer, Dave Krusen, were to be inducted, leaving out three previous drummers: Dave Abbruzzese, Jack Irons, and Matt Chamberlain.

Perhaps the most vocal of the three excluded drummers was Abbruzzese, who took to social media to share some of his thoughts on the situation.

Pearl Jam made an attempt to include everyone in the ceremony, but McCready’s now saying that yes, Abbruzzese should’ve been inducted. He then goes on to explain how the former drummer was an essential band member, helping Pearl Jam navigate the massive success they experienced from playing Lollapalooza and opening for the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Soundgarden.
