I've always been in love with unplugging from the hustle and bustle, getting outside and forgetting about the real world for a little while. It's so refreshing! One might think that technology shouldn't be involved in such a concept, but I have to disagree. I've found several apps handy in planning and prepping my adventures, and these 5 are a MUST if you're anything like me.

1. OnTheSnow. Since it's ski season for the PNW, I love keeping tabs on snowfall and conditions for area mountains and this app keeps all of your favorites stored in one convenient place. Even if I'm not traveling out of the area to some of my favorite resorts in Canada or Utah, I still like to know what's happening in areas I've visited! On The Snow is a must-have for powder hounds.

2. WTA's Trailblazer Mobile App. Avid hikers have been using the Washington Trails Association website for YEARS, and now the handy mobile app makes trail information even more readily accessible. This is especially helpful this time of year, when inclement weather and the changing of the seasons can mean anything from mudslides to unexpected snowfall.

3. DogFriendly.com. Whether you're crossing boarders with your dog, looking for dog-friendly accommodations or off-leash areas, DogFriendly.com is a wealth of information to make every aspect of your doggy adventure is covered!

4. Untappd. The app for beer lovers! It's basically a social network for craft brew connoisseurs that allows you to check in to beers as you drink them, read reviews, give reviews and even earn badges. If you're traveling, this app is super handy to find suds near you if you're not completely familiar with your whereabouts.

5. Strava. You might think this app is just for runners and cyclists. I do happen to use this when I'm on my road bike, but this app is great for skiing and boarding, swimming, crossfit, yoga, rock climbing, kayaking and more! You can plan routes, share your activity with your friends and track your personal records, all in one place!

I use all of these apps ALL THE TIME for everything from daydreaming to goal-setting. If you're down with my Wreckreation Guide, these apps will certainly enhance your phone's capabilities! If there's an app that helps you find adventure, please send me an email so I can check it out.

Happy Adventuring,
