Cocoon House Benefit

January 11, 2016

Thank you to EVERYONE who supported this weekend's Cocoon House benefit! Cocoon House is a non-profit that conducts outreach to, and provides short and long term housing for homeles s and at-risk young people, including their children. Parents of teens can also find support for themselves and their families at Cocoon House so that young people do not become homeless. Saturday was an amazing day for an incredible cause, and so many Rockaholics were there showing support in one way or another!

From 1-6pm, Everett Tattoo Emporium celebrated their grand re-opening with $30 tattoos, where proceeds from the tattoos would help homeless teens through Cocoon House. I got there at 3:30pm, and I couldn't even get in! There were 70 - yes SEVENTY - people ahead of me!! The good folks at Everett Tattoo Emporium gave those of us who didn't make Saturday's cut a voucher, so we can come back on another date, receive our $30 tattoo, and have the proceeds benefit Cocoon House still! To say it was a great turnout would be a true understatement!

Saturday evening, four AMAZING local bands took the stage, drawing in an incredible crowd of rockers. Skablins, WOODSHED, Piston Ready, and Mother Crone rocked the Wild Hare in Everett! Furthermore, Big E Ales out of Lynnwood donated kegs and sold beer for $2 with ALL PROCEEDS benefiting Cocoon House.

There was also a raffle and a silent auction with a ton of rad items - everything from a windshield replacement (which I WON!!!!) to a custom painted long board, cool T-shirts and beer gear.

As of right now, the total raised for the day of tattooing and rocking is sitting at more than $3,337, with more $$ still rolling in from the tattoos the artists couldn't get to on Saturday!

Congratulations to Everett Tattoo Emporium on their new location, and a HUGE shout out to all of the artists who donated their time, resources, and supplies to make it a day of giving.  Thank you to Skablins, Woodshed, Piston Ready, and Mother Crone for rocking us to our core. Get out and see these bands next time they're in town! Much love to all of the local businesses and artists who donated and contributed to the silent auction and raffle.  Thank you to Big E Ales for making DELICIOUS beer and donating kegs for the event. Thank you to the Wild Hare for hosting. And above all else, thank you to everyone who got tattooed and rocked out with us on Saturday! Without ALL of these moving parts, this day of giving back wouldn't have been possible. MUCH LOVE!
