Rock + Beer = Winning Combo!

Taryn's Wreckreation Guide: Sumerian Brewing Company, "The Origin Of Beer"

October 12, 2017

POWERED BY SUMERIAN BREWING COMPANY

When you manage to put two of my favorite things together, I'm instantly your biggest fan. Sumerian Brewing Company nailed it, pairing co-founder Mark Ihrig's love of rock with his love of beer. Clearly we are kindred spirits, because those are two of my biggest passions.

Until today, I had only drank their rockin' beers while sanding and painting cabinets at my property. This afternoon, I was able to visit the brewery in person and sample their craft beer straight from the teat!

Also, I REALLY respect their stance on pumpkin beers (sorry Ted).

Their obsession with IPAs is a real treat for hop heads like me, and head brewer Tyson has the art mastered. Before today, I'd already fallen hard for the Holy Water Citra IPA and the Hopruption Double IPA (which I should mention JUST won Double Gold for Best Imperial IPA from Sip Northwest Magazine's 2017 Best of the Northwest - Beer), but today my heart belonged to the Narcissism IPA. Before I even took a sip, the hoppy aromas had my mouth watering. I referred to it as a "Taryn IPA" because it was my style all the way!

Furthermore, I tried their Scotch Ale and Mexican Lager, both completely exceeding my expectations and leaving me thirsty for more! I'm pretty stoked they let me taste the next batch of Hopruption a few days before kegging it, too. :)

Their brewery's main space is absolutely stunning, but I was also thrilled to see the behind-the-scenes operations of Sumerian Brewing.

Their walk-in cooler not only featured stickers from other area breweries, tap houses and bars, but do you notice the sweet throwback KISW gem in the middle?! VAN HALEN, BABY!

Treat yourself to a trip to Sumerian Brewing Company in Woodinville and experience firsthand how they bring rock and beer together! And be sure to tell them I sent you! Cheer, my babes and babettes.

Happy Adventuring,

Taryn Daly
