Taryn's Top 5 KISW Shows of 2018 (so far...)

Taryn's Wreckreation Guide

January 2, 2018

2018 is going to be a BIG one for live music, I can just feel it! Only a handful of shows have been announced at this point, but my level of excitement is already through the roof. Here are the 5 shows you SHOULD NOT MISS in the New Year:

1. KISW Presents Queens of the Stone Age at Key Arena - January 25th: I've been a fan of them for YEARS, but still haven't had the opportunity to see them live! Their new album Villians has really impressed me, but I can't wait to see them play jams off of Rated R and Songs For The Deaf, the two albums that REALLY got me into the band.

My favorite QOTSA song:

2. KISW Presents Pop Evil at El Corazon - February 25th: Hopefully you've caught them in the past when they've played Pain In The Grass, but if you haven't seen them yet, definitely come to this show! At a super-intimate venue like this one, they're sure to get the place pumped up! Did you know that they recorded the album Up right here in Seattle? They love it here, and we love them.

Here's my Pop Evil interview from #Pain2016:

3. KISW Presents Judas Priest at ShoWare Center - April 15th: The metal gods return to the PNW with a brand new album and decades of rock for our ear holes to enjoy! I don't think there's another frontman out there whose voice is as strong as Rob Halford's, especially considering how long he's been doing it. They blew me away last time I saw them, and I won't miss this show!

Here's a little teaser of what's to come - the new album will be available in March:

4. KISW Presents Foo Fighters at Safeco Field - September 1st: Seeing them at The Paramount in 2003 was an absolute dream come true for me. When Foo Fighters played The Showbox in 2014, we were treated to something SUPER special. I missed them at The Gorge due to riding in the Bike MS Deception Pass Classic, so I'm definitely due for a kick ass show right here in Seattle! I'm so glad they've been transforming Safeco into a killer music venue!

If you didn't catch their holiday performance on SNL, check it out:

5. KISW Presents Pain In The Grass at some venue - some date they haven't announced yet: I wish I had more information for you Rockaholics! HA! I have heard some rumblings around the office, and all I can say is I am STOKED! Every year, KISW continues to bring some of the biggest rock bands in the world to our little slice of paradise - Alice In Chains, Korn, Lamb Of God, Avenged Sevenfold and Disturbed, just to name a few! Even without knowing the line-up, the date or the venue, I can tell you with 100% confidence that #Pain2018 will be HUGE!!! Stay tuned...

Did you know Dave Navarro was giving haircuts backstage one year?! Anything is possible at Pain In The Grass!

Can't wait to see you at the shows, Rockaholics! Keep those horns held high and ROCK ON!

Happy Adventuring,

Taryn Daly
