Taryn's Wreckreation Guide: Spend Thanksgiving on the Bend Ale Trail

November 15, 2016

POWERED BY VISIT BEND

I just had a thought... next week is Thanksgiving, and a lot of folks have some vacation days in there. It's the PERFECT opportunity to head to Oregon and tackle the Bend Ale Trail. You have family coming into town? Great! Bring 'em along!

Download the Bend Ale Trail App before you go, and be sure to stamp your passport at these five spectacular breweries:

1. Worthy Brewing: Their IPA is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES ever since my brother gave me a 6-pack last year, so drinking it direct from the source was pretty special! I stocked up on the IPA before leaving, of course. :)

2. Crux Fermentation Project: So many people have raved about this brewery, so I was pretty interested in finding out what the hype was all about! Not only did I get to take a tour of the facility, but I fell in love with their Cast Out IPA and their Half Hitch Imperial Mosaic IPA

3. Cascade Lakes Brewery: I'm REALLY looking forward to coming back to the Cascade Lakes Brewery Lodge during ski season, because it honestly felt like the PERFECT place to unwind after a day on the slopes. On top of trying four different beers here, I enjoyed their nachos immensely!

4. Silver Moon Brewing Company: This was the final stop of the day courtesy of the Bend Brew Bus, and I was SO adventurous by this time of the day :) Not only did I try the Twisted Gourd Pumpkin Ale, I also got down on a fantastic sour beer! One of the coolest things about Silver Moon's pub in Bend is the wall art. These incredible murals were SO life-like it was crazy!

5. Riverbend Brewing Company: With SO many college football happening at the same time, Riverbend's brew pub was the obvious stop Saturday night to watch football. They had a TON of TVs which was very helpful in keeping up with the games! I also tried an Oregonized Love northwest IPA, which was a great compliment to the pizza.

I certainly hope these breweries entice your inner traveler, because there is SO much to do and explore when you Visit Bend. These five spots are must-stops when you hit the Bend Ale Trail!

Happy Adventuring,

Taryn Daly
