The Crow Remake with Jason Momoa

For those who don't know, I have an undying love for the 1994 movie The Crow. I don't care how many years go by, or who says the original movie "doesn't hold up", I will still feel like I did when I first saw it as 14-years-old.

You don’t believe my obsession? I even have Brandon Lee’s Crow tattooed on me.

The first time a friend made me watch it, I was a little apprehensive. I mistook the gothic look for a horror movie and was ready to leave the room the second a monster popped on screen. But I was pleasantly surprised when my eyes were glued to the screen. This was a story about pain, revenge, and true love.

Since then, I've taken it upon myself to read the comic and was blown away.

When interviewing James O’Barr years ago on BJ Shea’s Geek Nation, he talked about all the pain that went into the making of both the book and first movie. So much heartache and loss, that is probably why so many people relate and feel a bond with his work.

Over the last few years, there have been rumors about a remake of the series. Yes there have been sequels that were not well received, and some would say, not worth your time, but this is a complete remake.

Many actors/directors have been attached to new movie such as Bradley Cooper and Luke Evans, but now we have confirmed that Jason Momoa, AKA Khal Drago and Aquaman will be playing Eric Draven.

I’ve been waiting for sooooo long. @corinhardy let’s do this brother aloha j

As much as I think he is a great actor and seems to be an awesome person, I am reluctant about a new movie.

I can’t stop it from happening so I will stay positive. Here is what I hope to see:

  1. A Great Soundtrack

One of the biggest appeals of the original movie was the amazing soundtrack. With songs from The Cure, Stone Temple Pilots, Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against the Machine, yeah, this new movie has big shoes to fill.

  2. Jason Dancing
In the comic, there is a very important moment where Eric Draven dances with so much elegance and grace, and I am curious to see if Jason can pull it off.

  3. James O’Barr’s Involvement
This story has been heartache after heartache for O'Barr, so hopefully he can find some healing through a new movie as well as input his thoughts into it.

What do you think of a new Crow movie? Should they be doing it at all?

Until Next Time, Stay Nerdy!
