Jabroni Journal: Predictions For Clash Of Champions 2016

September 22, 2016

I'll admit it. I'll be up front and come right out and say it. Thus far, my predictions have been pretty crappy. Within the first few months of Jabroni Journal, I haven't exactly established myself as the most credible source. Understanding this, I have decided to take much more of a step back, evaluate the likely situation and try not to just project what I *want* to happen.

Moving forward.

Here are my predictions for the newly rebranded Clash Of Champions. Personally, I think it's pretty rad that WWE is bringing back a WCW-era event and giving it to the Raw roster. Now if only they would bring back Halloween Havoc or War Games.......

1. Kickoff Match: Nia Jax vs. Alicia Fox

There is no possible way that Alicia Fox makes it out of this match as winner. First off, Nia Jax has decimated every single one of her opponents GOLDBERG-style so far. The announcers are constantly reiterating how much of a MONSTER she is. Second, Alicia Fox hasn't been featured on TV in a competitive match in months.

Winner: Nia Jax

2. Sami Zayn vs. Chris Jericho

I am super excited for this match. Both of these wrestlers are extremely talented and this has the potential to steal the show. Sami Zayn is a favorite of any crowd he performs in front of, as he is a natural babyface, while Jericho is currently KILLING IT as a dirty heel (bad guy). I don't see this feud ending with this match and predict that Jericho finds some way to cheat his way to victory.

Winner: Chris Jericho

3. WWE Cruiserweight Champion T.J. Perkins vs. Brian Kendrick

How good was the Cruiserweight Classic? INSANE. Seriously, the CWC was must see television for the entire 10 weeks it ran and was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the summer for me wrestling-wise. The amount of quality high-flying and technical wrestling that was displayed by all 32 combatants was remarkable. In the end, T.J. Perkins - a wrestler who was formerly known in TNA as Suicide (then later Manik) - was victorious, holding high the newly minted purple Cruiserweight Championship belt. Brian Kendrick certainly proved that he has another solid run ahead of him, but I highly doubt them taking the belt off Perkins so quickly. In order to gain some credibility with the newly christened champion, he needs to hold the belt for awhile and get some impressive victories.

Winner: T.J. Perkins - NOTE: Don't miss this match ! It will be amazing !

4. Cesaro vs. Sheamus (Match Seven in "Best Of Seven" series)

These two dudes won't hold back. Every time Cesaro and Sheamus have been in the ring together thus far in the Best Of Seven series, it's been, as Good Ol J.R. would call, a "SLOBBERKNOCKER." They sure know how to really lay in those chops, fists and uppercuts. Sheamus took the early advantage in this series by winning 3 straight matches in a row to start things off, but Cesaro has rallied back like the Cleveland Cavaliers, tying things up with 3 wins each. In the end, I see them playing out a true underdog story with Cesaro coming back strong to win four in a row and finish things off as the victor in the final match.

Winner: Cesaro

5. Raw Tag Team Champions The New Day vs. Gallows & Anderson

A couple months back I predicted that Gallows and Anderson would finally prove why they are touted as one of the toughest teams in the world. Well, that didn't work out so well for me, did it? But damn it, I still think that's the outcome at the end of this feud. They have been building up this rivalry pretty heavy in the past few weeks (though the segments have been painfully unfunny). I predict that Gallows and Anderson - much like Jericho - cheat to win and walk out of the match as your new Raw Tag Team Champions.

Winners: Gallows and Anderson

6. Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks vs. Bayley

Here's another match I'm pretty damn excited to see. We know these three women can put on a wrestling clinic in the ring, so there's no doubting this one will be an instant classic. Though I love Bayley and would be stoooooked to see her win the belt, I don't see it happening just yet. I have a feeling that we will see Dana Brooke make an appearance and I'm predicting she distracts Charlotte as a way to get back at her, allowing Sasha to gain the advantage and pin her, winning back the Raw Women's Championship belt.

Winner: Sasha Banks

7. United States Champion Rusev vs. Roman Reigns

I'm a big fan of Rusev. He's imposing yet hilarious, his character is convincing and he has consistently great matches. I *want* Rusev to win. But going back to what I was saying in the beginning there....I don't think that's the way things are gonna work out. I see Roman Reigns winning the U.S Title to try and get the fans on his side, as it seems a solid 60-70 percent of the Raw audience is consistently booing the hell out of him.

Winner: Roman Reigns

8. WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins

What a main event ! There's no way this match will be anything less than EPIC. Many of us have watched both these wrestlers make their way from the indies and rise up the ranks of the biggest wrestling company in the world, so this is a pretty special one. It appears that they are building Seth up as a bit of a sympathetic good guy, so I see Kevin Owens retaining the title with some sort of involvement by the returning Triple H.

Winner: Kevin Owens
