Joey "Deez" Blog "Cubs Win"

November 3, 2016

I can’t believe it actually happened.

The Cubs won the World Series last night in what will most likely go down as one of the greatest games every played. From start to finish, the game was packed with excitement and surprises.

The Cubs had a huge lead, 5-1, but not huge enough as the game went into extra innings with a score of 6-6 when the Indians rattled off three runs in the 9th. Even that wasn’t epic enough though. As the 10th inning was about to start, rain started pouring and the tarps had to be sent out, causing a 20 minute delay. Talk about crazy, this game had everyone on the edge of the seats and then some. But the night would not end without crowning a victor. Both teams came out of the dugout revitalized after getting what I can only guess was the most motivational speech of their lives. And it worked.

The Cubs quickly scored two runs in the top of the 10th after loading the bases, giving them an 8-6 lead. At this point I thought game was out of reach, man was I wrong. The Indians managed to not only score another run in the bottom of the 10th, but also put the tying run on first. The game swung back and forth so many times that I think everyone in the stands expected The Indians to tie the game back up. But with one quick pitch and a crack of the bat and it was all over. The Cubs recorded their third out of the inning and crowned themselves champions for the first time 108 years. Jason, a coworker of mine, is the biggest Cubs fan I know and has been riding the crazy rollercoaster of a season it’s been for the Cubs. The grin on his face says it all in the picture above.

What’s the most epic thing you’re glad you got to see?

Update: Thanks to Rock-A-Holic Chase B. for these pictures outside of Wrigley Field after the win!
