Joey Deez Blog "Sports Rage"

January 5, 2017

The weekend is quickly approaching Rock-a-Holics and there is a buzz in the air! Why you ask? Well with all the blue and green lighting up our fine city it can mean only one thing, playoffs! Yes that’s right, this Saturday the Hawks will being taking the first step towards the Super Bowl tackling the Detroit Lions. For those of you don’t know, I’m actually a Patriot’s fan, but I will be watching this game on the edge of my seat rooting hard for the Seahawks for one simple reason. I want a rematch, as I’m sure you do as well. Not just because the Hawks were one of only two loses this year for the Patriots but also because when these two teams when head to head in the Super Bowl, it was one of the best of all time. I don’t know why, but these two teams are always so evenly matched and play with so much passion that they never let us, the fans, down. Win or lose, I want a Seahawks vs. Patriots Super Bowl.

Living in Seattle it’s been a blast for me to get to see many of my friends who have been Hawks fans for so long finally get a team that embodies the spirit of Seattle. But the road wasn’t always so smooth, as a matter of fact it has been a bit bumpy and I’ve gotten to hear some great horror stories through the years of sports rage. One of my favorites did come from that epic Super Bowl because my friend hosted a Hawks vs. Pats viewing for the game. When Russell Wilson threw that interception, one of my friends got so mad that he stood up, went over the table with all the food, picked up a full tray of “Patriotos” (aka Patriot’s Nachos) and tossed them right out the window of my friend’s house. When they hit the ground he turned around and said “You can call me Russell ‘throwing things away’ Wilson”. The line was so good we didn’t even care about the loss of some tasty nachos. If the Pats lose to the Hawks in this year’s Super Bowl, I’ll have to top that act of pure rage with my own creative destruction. Look out potluck table, a certain Wrestling move may in your future.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve seen or done at a sporting event?
