Rock Blog: Members of Pearl Jam & Alice in Chains Marched for Women . . . And It Was Awesome

January 23, 2017

Unless you were living under a rock this weekend, or are completely immune to social media, you probably saw that some of the women in your life took part in the Women’s March. With numbers across the nation being estimated at around 2.9 million, news sites are crediting it to be one of the largest protests in American history.

And another reason to love this peaceful protest? Because some of your favorite bands from right here in the PNW got involved.

Check out the posts below from Pearl Jam:

Mike McCready

"Ran into my dear friend @BrandiCarlile. We can overcome tyranny by this Administration. I'm so proud of Americans that participated in this incredible day. We have hope again against ignorance and hatred." -Mike #WomensMarch

Proud of all our friends, family and fans participating in the #WomensMarch. Women's rights are human rights.

And Sean Kinney, drummer for Alice in Chains was marching right here in Seattle:

Great day in Seattle.

Awesome stuff all around! Did you get to participate in any of the march? Where were you watching from?
