Aerosmith Dedicates Dream On to Chris Cornell

On Saturday night (5/20), Aerosmith took their AeroVederci tour to Batumi, Georgia’s Black Sea Arena—three days after the suicide of Chris Cornell, legendary voice of Soundgarden and Audioslave.

In honor of Cornell’s life, the band played Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun” to a visual backdrop of Chris Cornell. Steven Tyler then sat at his piano, asked the audience for a moment of silence, and said a prayer for Cornell that he may “Dream On.” This fan-shot video captures the tribute.

The dedication to the late rocker was played during Aerosmith’s encore (full show set list below). Other dedications were made by Tyler and Joe Perry last week on social media.

THERE'S A NEW STAR IN THE HEAVENS TONIGHT...THAT WILL SHINE FOREVER FROM THE MEMORY OF YOUR DREAM...YOU WERE THE ICING ON EVERY BAND YOU PLAYED WITH...YOU WERE A GREAT FRIEND CHRIS...THE WORLD WILL MISS YOU DEEPLY...SADLY...LOVINGLY...
