Loud and Local Presents: "Welcome to Seattle"

June 1, 2017

Is it just me or have Wyatt Olney and the Wreckage just absoultely taken the Seattle scene by storm over these last couple years??

Their bitchin' debut album “Dark Futures” helped...

Getting on some massive bills helped... (Like the one this Saturday at Showbox Market with Windowpane, Van Eps, Kiss the Gunners Daughter, and Mach Society!)

Relentlessly supporting other bands definitely helped... (I’m not sure I can remember the last time I went to a show and didn’t see at least one member of this band!)

And the two newest tunes from their upcoming album are definitely helping!

We debuted Off the Wagon right here at kisw.com a while back and now I’m stoked to be sharing their latest video for “Welcome to Seattle”, an epic ode to this beautiful scene they’ve helped elevate to new heights:

I think Wyatt totally sounds like Dave Grohl in this, what about you?

Also, mad props to Willie for rockin the KISW Sedated tee in the video! (Update: Wyatt just messaged me: "Random fact, he borrowed my sedated tee for the video, and I need a new one because I'll never get the smell out of it lol"... He didn't say "off the record" so I'm assuming he wanted that published here haha)

-Matt Koch (Guest-posting cuz I’ll be guest hosting Loud and Local this Sunday at 10pm with Dirty Dirty AND Ten Miles Wide in studio! Tune in!)
