Taryn's Wreckreation Guide: Take A One-Tank-Trip to Point No Point

July 7, 2017

POWERED BY WESTERN WASHINGTON HONDA DEALERS

Living in the PNW, we are beyond blessed by a bevy one-tank-trips. Looking for a little inspiration to get your adventure started? Here we go...

Fill up your gas tank this weekend and take a day trip to Point No Point for some of the best beach-coming in all of Western Washington! Drive onto the Edmonds ferry and it's a quick drive north from the Kingston ferry terminal to the spit!

One of the reasons I dig Point No Point is because the beach is SUPER sandy, rather than the rockier beaches I'm used to in the area. Kick off the shoes and wander for miles! Point No Point is also great for flying kites, picnicking and taking in the most incredible views. There have been plenty of whale sightings over the years, too, so keep your eyes peeled.

The historic lighthouse at Point No Point is the Puget Sound's oldest lighthouse, proudly operating since 1879. You can snag a tour between noon and 4pm on weekends now through September, where the walls have historic photos to browse and there's decades-old equipment to peruse.

The oldest working lighthouse in the state of WA. Who knew? #pnw #ilovewhereilive #ilovephotography #beachvibes #upperleftusa #iphonephotography #pointnopoint

If you want to make a weekend of it, check out the Point No Point Lighthouse Keeper's Inn - it's basically a time-machine open to the public. You'll feel just like the lighthouse keepers of yesteryear!

While you're in the area, be sure to check out at least one of these sweet spots:

Greenwoodes Farm is your one-stop-shop for baked goods and jams all made from local, organic ingredients, plus farm grown fruits, vegetables and eggs!

Finally got these figured out! Everyone perfect! #macarons #greenwoodesfarm #poulsbofarmersmarket

Downpour Brewing is near the ferry, so be sure to fill a growler while you're waiting for the boat home. Might I recommend the Loose Seal IPA? It clocks in at 6.6% ABV and boasts 76 IBUs. Also, puppers welcome.

-- pretty sure I can kick their butts at jenga, but I'd rather lay here & look pretty✨

If you're looking for a bite to eat or some ice cream to cool you down after a full day of sunshine, check out Hansgrill Hansville Grocery And Provisions Co. down the road from Point No Point. Grab a cone to go or sit and chill!

Grabbing a late dinner at the only restaurant in Hansville. They conveniently have a killer black bean quesadilla and a stunning view that I took a less-than-stunning cell snap of.

The area is SO incredibly different from any other part of the state, you'll absolutely love exploring and will probably make it an annual visit! Enjoy, Rockaholics.

Happy Adventuring,
