Warm up from the inside out w/ these soup & chili hot spots

Taryn's Wreckreation Guide: Soup's on!

December 7, 2017

I'm fairly certain the ground at my place in Stanwood never even had the chance to thaw out today. It's COLD, my friends, and sometimes the only way to TRULY warm up is with a big bowl of soup. Chili works, too. People talk about the best burger... the best sushi... the best pizza... but these places have some of the best soups & chilis around! Go see 'em if you need to thaw out!

The Chatter Box, Stanwood: I'm kicking it off with a hometown favorite - I order the Tom Yum Soup with chicken at The Chatter Box every time I go there! On super cold days, it's extra comforting, and if you're anything like me, you'll go for 4 or 5 stars on their spicy scale. Because who needs their stomach lining anyway?

Mike's Chili Parlor, Seattle: An intimate gathering place in Ballard with all the dive bar vibes, Mike's has been a spot I've frequented with friends and family for YEARS now. There's always a great beer selection on tap, and it's without a doubt best chili in the city. Be prepared - it's cash only, and you can even grab a gallon to bring home!

Bob's Chowder Bar, Anacortes: Believe the hype - one bite and you'll understand why Bob's was voted Best Chowder! If any restaurant has chowder on the menu, I always want to try it. In my years of doing so, I stand behind Bob's as the best I've had yet! And totally worth the drive if you're not a local!

Infinite Soups, Tacoma: Their menu changes daily, so you can ALWAYS find something new to try in the category of your choosing - Creamy, Non-Creamy, Vegetarian or Vegan. Infinite Soups also has a crazy collection of vinyl, so you can select your soup-slurping soundtrack while you're there!

This place for the win! #chickenandartichoke

Than Brothers, Seattle & surrounding areas: With multiple locations to hit, I delcare this my favorite Pho in the area! Their rice noodle soup is something I crave frequently and it always satisfies. I add lots of jalapenos, Sriracha and other delights to make it extra spicy on the coldest days.

Get toasty from the inside out - it's the best way to beat the cold temperatures this week!

Happy Adventuring,
