The Offspring
If you’ve been listening to The Rock for years, you've definitely heard a good deal of music from The Offspring. Formed in Huntington Beach, California in 1984, The Offspring have become one of the staple punk rock bands on The Rock, and in the music industry as a whole. Often credited with revitalizing and recreating mainstream interest in the punk rock scene, now comprised of vocalist Dexter Holland, guitarist Noodles, bassist Greg K, and drummer Pete Parada, the band has been entertaining punk-at-heart Rockaholics steadily for over twenty years, releasing 9 studio albums that have made them one of the best-selling, and best-loved, punk rock acts in history.
Three Days Grace
Hailing from Ontario, Canada, Three Days Grace has made a huge impact on rock radio in recent years. With 3 smash-hit studio albums (and another one on the way) and a string of number one hit singles on the Billboard Alternative Songs charts since their emergence as Three Days Grace in 1997, the band has helped bring a great amount of focus back to the hard rock music scene. If you've been a loyal listener of The Rock for several years, you certainly remember the single that rocketed them to success, "I Hate Everything About You". Even though this awesome rock single is still popular today, Three Days Grace has continued to impress fans with songs like “Just Like You”, “Pain”, and “Never Too Late”. We’re excited to see them perform some of our favorites on the Pain in the Grass stage this year.
Chevelle
Many bands, after spending over a decade in the music business, might stop to rest on their laurels. Chevelle, however, will be doing no such thing. Since their debut in 1999, the guys have never stopped progressing and pushing the boundaries of their own sound and of the idea of alternative metal as a whole. Their newest album, Hats Off to the Bull, has been received positively across the board by critics and fans alike, proving that there's no such thing as a "slump" when it comes to Chevelle's writing and performance. “Red” continues to be a popular song, but is almost outdone by their newest single, “Face to the Floor”. Almost. In fact, we here at The Rock have so much faith in their ability to continually deliver a fresh, solid performance that this is the third time they've been invited to Pain in the Grass.
Candlebox
Candlebox needs no introduction if you paid any attention to the music scene in the 90s. Formed in Seattle in 1990, the band spearheaded the post-grunge music movement in the Northwest that proved our city had more to offer, even after the grunge movement began to die out. Despite a six-year hiatus that began in 2000, Candlebox has released five studio albums (including two that have gone gold and multi-platinum), and continues to tour with big-name bands and entertain audiences. Whether or not you can remember the height of the music scene in Seattle, we’re proud to have this large slice of Seattle history on our Seattle stage.
Royal Bliss
Royal Bliss is modern rock with equal parts beauty and tragedy. The band has already been through enough to justify their own VH1Behind the Music episode complete with addiction, near death experiences, car crashes, and law suits. The music has been a message to those who listened, evolving every step of the way. From the early days when the lyrics echoed that of a late night frat party, to the deep, meaningful, and sometimes cries for help, the process of evolution is undeniable. Hailing from Salt Lake City, their Capitol Records debut, Life In-Between charted in the Billboard Top 200 and was #1 in Billboard Heatseekers. Touring with acts such as Buckcherry, Candlebox, Chevelle, Kid Rock and Papa Roach has only increased the demand for the dynamic band from Utah.
