“KISW ROCK GIRLS 2008”
These are the complete and official rules governing the “KISW ROCK GIRLS”:
WHO CAN ENTER:
1. Contest open to legal Washington State residents 21 years or older. Employees of Entercom Seattle LLC d/b/a 99.9 KISW, other sponsors participating in this contest, and their parent companies, subsidiaries, contest sponsors, affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies and the immediate families and household members (i.e., spouses, parents, grandparents, children, grandchildren, co-habitating partners, roommates, and siblings) are NOT eligible to enter or win. Employees of any radio station within a one hundred (100) mile radius of KISW are NOT eligible to enter or win. KISW may require proof of age, identification and/or social security number prior to delivering a prize.
2. The contest is open to all previous KISW winners, regardless of previous amount won or date of wining. After winning a prize in this contest, however, the winner is ineligible to win again on KISW for a period of 30 days. Only one entrant per household in this contest will be allowed to qualify or win; in the case of duplicate entrants from a single household, only the first chronological entrant will be allowed to continue to participate.
HOW TO ENTER/HOW TO WIN:
3. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.
4. To enter the Contest to become a Rock Girl, each entrant must submit a picture of herself and a one page resume to KISW 1100 Olive Way Suite 1650, Seattle WA 98101. This should be done via email at “Rockgirlsearch@kisw.com”, regular mail addressed to KISW Rock Girls Entry or personally dropped off at the KISW offices between 8:30am and 5:30pm on weekdays (excluding holidays). All entries must be received from April 14 – May 2, 2008.
5. Each qualified contestant will have to come to the KISW Studios and have her official “Rock Girl Hopeful” photo taken by May 7th at 3pm PST. The official “Rock Girl Hopeful” photo and personal information displayed on the KISW website. Listeners and visitors to the website will be encouraged to vote for their favorite entrants from May 12 – May 16. The 29 entrants with the greatest number of votes and the 11 returning 2007 Rock Girls will advance to the Gala event to be held June 4th at Tacoma Dome venue. Ballot stuffing (multiple votes from the same person or computer) or electronic tampering may result in disqualification of the benefiting contestant
6. The 40 finalists will be required to attend a series of meet and greets from May 12 – June 4. Failure of any finalist to attend at least 2 of the 5 meet and greet events will result in her disqualification from the Contest.
7. The 40 finalist will also be required to attend one of two round table meetings on May 22 at 6pm or May 28 at 5:30pm. Failure to attend will result in her disqualification from the contest.
8. On June 4, KISW will host the finals competition at the Tacoma Dome in which 16 of the 40 finalists will be selected as Rock Girls. In addition, 6 alternates will be chosen to serve as Rock Girl alternates. Rock Girl alternates will be the pool from which Rock Girls will be picked if a winning Rock Girl is terminated or resigns. All contestants must be present at Noon at this event to register and participate in each of the following rounds of the Contest competition to win:
· Round 1- Interview and introduction
· Round 2- Swimsuit
· Round 3- Evening Wear
9. Each finalist will receive a numerical score for each round from the panel of judges. The winning Rock Girls will be the 16 finalists who receive the greatest number of point at the conclusion of the judging of the competition. The alternates will be those with the next 6 highest scores and will be ranked 1 through 6 in accordance with the scores received. Judges may be employees of KISW or invited guests of KISW. Each judge will vote according to personal taste and contest criteria in each round. The judges’ decisions shall be final and non-appealable.
10. Participants may not violate any federal, state or local laws and may not harm or endanger themselves or other persons or property. If KISW deems that a potential winner or selected winner may have created a public hazard, caused interference with or destruction of property and/or utilized public safety resources, such winner will be disqualified.
PRIZES:
11. Odds of winning depend on number of entrants.
The 16 winners will receive the following as prizes for being selected KISW ROCK GIRLS:
- The 16 winners will be Rock Girls until 4/30/09. As Rock Girls the winners will have the opportunity, from time to time, to participate in station events during the year, including three major station events: The Holiday Hangover Ball, Pigskin Pigout and KISW Summer Rock Festival. No individual winning Rock Girl is guaranteed any nor any number of event appearances. In the event that a particular Rock Girl is scheduled by KISW and appears at a station event, she will receive (i) $35/hr for each hour worked at these events, (ii) $0.505 /mile for mileage to and from events over 30 miles from their home, and (iii) $12/hour for time spent at the KISW offices for meetings and commercial production. The 16 winners may also be awarded other prizes from time to time, which may include annual gym memberships, apparel, footwear, travel opportunities, concerts and sporting event tickets. Rock Girls’ photos will be featured in KISW Rock Girl Calendar, Rock Girl Trading Cards and Web based photo layouts. Rock Girls understand and agree that they will not be entitled to any additional compensation for such features and that KISW will solely own all rights to photos and any revenues derived from such Calendar, Trading Cards and Web based photo layouts.
- Each of the 16 winners will be given a Rock Girl uniform, which must be worn to all station events unless stipulated by a station representative.
- Each of the 16 winners who receive compensation and or taxable prizes will be deemed part-time, temporary employees, and will have customary payroll withholdings deducted from their earnings as Rock Girls. They will receive an IRS Form W-2 from Entercom for tax reporting purposes for the year in which the compensation is received or prize awarded.
- KISW reserves the right to terminate the services of any of the 16 winners who become Rock Girlsbased on any of the following:
- Failure to attend (3) events they have accepted including meetings and production assignments;
- Failure to arrive on time to (3) events;
- Canceling (3) appearances within 24 hours of the event;
- Obtaining employment from any Seattle Radio Station other than KISW;
- Causing damage to Entercom property;
- Failure to maintain communication with KISW;
- Behavior at a KISW event or while wearing a KISW Rock Girls uniform that is not in the best interest of KISW or its reputation in the community;
- Any other reason the KSW reasonably considers just cause for terminating;
In the event of such termination, the affected Rock Girl will forfeit the title of Rock Girl, together with all associated future earnings, prizes, and photo opportunities.
- KISW will treat the first attendance violation with a verbal warning, the second attendance violation with a written warning, and the third violation will result in forfeiture of the title of Rock Girl. When a Rock Girl is terminated or chooses to relinquish the title, a replacement Rock Girl will be chosen from the alternate pool determined at the Rock Girl Gala on June 4. If the first alternate is unavailable, the girl with the second highest total will assume the title and so on. In the event that there are no available alternates from the original contest KISW reserves the right to award the title of Rock Girl based solely on the stations discretion.
- All alternates who become Rock Girls will be subject to the contest rules described above and will be entitled to all future benefits of the Rock Girl program from the date the title is awarded until 4/30/2009. There will be no retroactive compensation.
13. KISW are not responsible for replacing or reimbursing winners with any form of compensation for events that are canceled. All cancellations are deemed beyond the control of KISW. This includes, but is not limited to, event cancellations, delays of any form and duration, game cancellation and delays, as well as all acts of nature or war. Additionally, KISW is not responsible for any third party work stoppage that may affect its ability to provide any of the non-cash prizes. KISW is not responsible for any expenses incurred by contest winners as a result of such cancellations.
Allsupplemental prizes (if any) are based on availability and subject to additional restrictions including blackouts, peak period restrictions and expiration dates imposed by sponsors and/or agents participating in the contest. These restrictions are not subject to negotiation. Winners will be notified of all such restrictions within four to six weeks of winning the prize. KISW reserve the right to require that winners pick up all prizes and information at the station’s offices or at a participating sponsor location during regular business hours. KISW is not responsible for prize information or documents, which are lost or misdelivered by the postal service or carrier.
15. Prizes must be accepted as awarded and are NOT redeemable for credit, are non-transferable and are non-endorsable. If the winner forfeits their prize, or is disqualified, the supplemental prizes (if any) will NOT be re-awarded. In the event a substitution for a prize is necessary due to unavailability, a prize of equal or greater value will be substituted at the sole discretion of KISW and any and all contest sponsors. KISW is not responsible if a winner is unable to take an awarded trip or utilize event tickets during the time period or on the date specified in their awarded supplemental prize.
OTHER RULES:
16. Participants will be required to provide proof of identification to KISW prior to being named finalists or winners. Finalists may be required to sign a “Winner Release” and attach a photocopy of a valid Washington Drivers License and Social Security Card (faxes are not accepted) or passport and fill out the paperwork completely and return it to KISW to be eligible to participate in the Gala.
17. The rules to this contest are subject to change. This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited.
18. The winner agrees to pay all expenses, taxes and fees not included in the prize. KISW will report to the government any winnings totaling over $600 (in cash or fair market value) in a one-year period. Winners will be notified in a 1099 Form if any earnings are reported and are responsible for payment of all taxes associated with any prize(s).
19. KISW Management shall be the sole arbiters in all matters relating to the contest and the interpretation of contest rules. The decisions of KISW and KISW Management shall be final. Entry into or participation in station contests constitutes agreement by contestant to abide by these rules.
20. Participants in the KISW Rock Girl Search contest acknowledge that their voice or likeness may be used by KISW on-air and/or on-line and for other advertising and promotional purposes. In addition, participants may be called by KISW live on the air or taped live on the air for use as part of the contest or in future advertising on KISW. Permission to use a listener’s voice, likeness, photograph, and/or name is granted by entering or participation in any KISW contest or calling-in to the on-air studio on KISW. Each winner further grants KISW, Entercom Seattle LLC d/b/a 99.9 KISW, its sponsors and affiliates full permission and authority to use their name, likeness, and/or voice in all forms of advertising without compensation.
21. Participants waive any and all claims against KISW, Entercom Seattle LLC d/b/a 99.9 KISW, the contest sponsors and their affiliated companies and employees for injuries, damages or losses related to participation in the contest and their use of the prize. KISW and its associated companies and sponsors accept no responsibility of liability in connection with any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from (a) participation in the contest and as a Rock Girl and/or (b) the acceptance, possession and/or use of any prize awarded hereunder. Winners may be required to sign a release of liability of KISW, its associated companies and sponsors acknowledging the foregoing prior to any prize being delivered. KISW reserves the right to end or stop any contest at any time and for any reason.
22. A complete copy of the rules are available at the KISW studios at 1100 Olive Way Suite 1650, Seattle WA 98101 Monday through Friday, except holidays, from 8:30am-5:30pm PST. A complete list of winners will also be available after June 6 by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope addressed to KISW Rock Girls Contest Winners 2008, 1100 Olive Way Suite 1650, Seattle WA 98101.
