Day 779 (07/13/09) The Natural!
Today was a fun show…we started off the show giving away tickets to the upcoming Pearl Jam show on September 21st. They are kicking off their tour on September 21st & 22nd at the Key Arena…their new CD “Backspacer” is out in September…I am so excited! All this week we are giving away tix with a fun Nut Hut game called: "Singing Pearl Jam with Jam." Intern Vicky will sing a Pearl Jam song with jam in her mouth, if the listener correctly guesses the name of the song, he/she will win the tickets. Thanks to Ken Griffey Sr. for calling in this morning. Ken was on to promote ZERO – The Project to End Prostate Cancer (ZeroCancer.org), he is a Prostate Cancer survivor. It was fun to chat with Ken about his son…we learned that Jr. didn’t get his sense of humor (he is known for being a prankster in the clubhouse) from his dad…he learned that from former Pirates great—Willie Stargell. A few years ago, ESPN released a list of the best father & son combos in sports…at the top is Barry & Bobby bonds…then Bobby & Brett hull ..at # 3 is Lee and Richard Petty…and Ken & his son came in at #5…losing out to Man o' War and War Admiral…who are they you ask? Yes…they lost out to 2 horses!!!!! Wow!!!!!! Ken was a great guest…hopefully we will have him back on again soon!
We spent some time chatting about the season premiere of Entourage last night…the boys are back, and this season looks great! After watching it, I watched some of this new show – Hung, starring Thomas “The Punisher” Jane. The show is all about a guy that is packing a “punisher” down below, so he becomes a pimp. It actually looks funny, I’m gonna have to check this show out.

Randy is fighting Antonio Nogueira in Portland on August 29th. Randy is from here…went to Lynnwood High School. He was a janitor at the Alderwood Mall before becoming an MMA legend, and his parents own a restaurant in Lynnhood—Marcos!!! Sweet! We spent some time talking about the Brock Lesnar fight over the weekend, and how Brock came off like a tool…again…in the post fight interview. If you missed it, click HERE!
