Day 784 (07/20/09) Backspacer!

Day 784 (07/20/09) Backspacer!

Today we premiered the new Pearl jam song --  the Fixer…damn good song. It has a real cool vibe to the song…a perfect summer sounding song…It’s off of their new CD “Backspacer” which will be in stores on September 20th.

My buddy Matthew made a great comparison, saying the song sounds like The Replacement.  While reading up on the new CD, we learned that Pearl Jam sponsored a Turtle in the Great Turtle Race…the turtle’s name is Backspacer.  Check him out:

Now if you are like me, and have no idea that there was a turtle race, apparently eleven leatherback sea turtles took part in the Great Turtle Race in the Caribbean. They did it to raise awareness for sea turtle conservation.  Upon further research, we saw this on the pearl Jam site:

We’re happy to report that Backspacer’s long journey came to victorious end today! She was the first to cross the Great Turtle Race - http://www.greatturtlerace.org - finish line through the Windward Islands, between St. Vincent and St. Lucia. Thank you all for cheering her on!

So over the weekend, my lady & I watched Beverly Hills Chihuahua…it wasn’t as bad of a film as I expected, and the funniest part was how during one scene (when the chihuahua had a monster like bark), we called B.S. on it for not being believable…in retrospect I found that funny since we were able suspend all reality & didn’t’t have issues with the fact that all the dogs were TALKING!!!!

Went to the sounders game vs. Chelsea over the weekend…Qwest was rocking…67,000 plus people.  All I have to say is…wow…Chelsea are really good…unbelievable defense…are you kidding me?

My lady & I went & saw No Doubt last night at the White River Amphitheater…those guys put on a great show.  Also…Gwen Stefani still looks hot, but the women in the audience that tried to look like Gwen aren’t so hot…ladies…if you have nasty ass extra skin hanging from your stomach with stretch marks…don’t wear a belly shirt.  Wear a “Cover-my-belly” shirt.

Huge thanks to Jim Breuer for calling in!  Jim called in to promote his Comedy Central special: Let’s Clear the Air – Premiering Saturday at 11pm (Comcast Channel 60), and his DVD which is in stores onnext Tuesday.   We also learned…and I’m so excited for this…that Jim is going to be at the Snoqualmie Casino – Thursday,  August 27th – 8pm – More information is available at www.snocasino.com

So we read that  Java Girls espresso in Auburn were a part of a car-wash to raise money for the Make-A-Wish foundation.  But Make-A-Wish won’t accept the money!!!!!  The group says it doesn't want to be affiliated with the women in bikinis.  We talked to Jeannette Tarcha from Make-A-Wish this morning, personally…if I was in need to Make-A-Wish…I would ask for these bikini girls to wash me every night til’ I’m done.  Waka Waka!  Based on this hoopla, Chris wrote in with a great point:

A question I have on this Make a Wish stuff, if you get a hold of the lady again...   who decides what would "offend" one of the families?  Do religious groups get to donate, even if someone might be offended by accepting money from a Christian or Budhist or something?  Isn't WWE one of the main companies that donates to Make a Wish?  Couldn't some famlies be "offended" by the Divas matches, or Hell in a Cell matches, or some of the storylines the WWE does?

This is ridiculous...
