Day 785 (07/21/09) Distracted!
Huge thanks to Jesse James for joining us this morning…Jesse was supposed to be on last week, but he had to go to the hospital because the titanium cable holding his shoulder together came loose…yikes! He said that the pain was so bad that his ears were burning…this led to him talking about all of his injuries…screws in his body, broken elbow & ribs, ruptured blood vessels, chipped the back of his pelvis, etc. Jesse has a new show called Jesse James Is A Dead Man on SPIKE TV on Sunday nights at 10. The show’s premise is that viewers submit things that they want Jesse to do…like the grueling off-road race better known as the Baja 500, hitting more than 200 mph on a Nitro bike supercharged by ultra-combustible nitro-methane fuel, and braving harsh Arctic weather conditions by riding a motorcycle in minus-60 degree temperature across the infamous Ice Highway. Double R asked a great question…wondering how he is able to clear all this stuff through the SPIKE TV legal department…Jesse said that his “Insurance has been canceled 3 or 4 times during this season, and despite being told to not do certain things…he does them anyway. During the interview he told us that the toughest thing he has done was the Top Field Drag Bike, and the dumbest one was riding up to the top of the arctic circle in December! Jesse lived in Kirkland as a welder back in the day…he said it sucked because of the lack of sun, but did like the coffee & the music scene.
I have to say…I’m being distracted while watching…uh…I mean writing this blog…I’m looking at the new 40th Anniversary issue of Penthouse. Penthouse…thank you for 40 excellent years of great reading pleasure…actually more like 36 or 37 years…I don’t count those years they featured pictures that involved water sports as great…those were the dark years…actually it should be called the “golden years” – waka waka!
