Day 797 (08/11/09) 12 Cups of Coffee!!!!!

Day 797 (08/11/09)  12 Cups of Coffee!!!!!

The morning started off with BJ in a pissy mood…he got into a fight with his wife some more…all because of the fight over the weekend.  Check yesterday’s blog for details about that.  I guess at some point in their argument he asked for her to just “shut up” when he is dealing with stress.

Double R shared a disgusting story this morning.  His buddy was staying at his place & Double R was about to take a bath when he noticed that his buddy left some…um…”shampoo” on the tub.  Dub had to clean it….GROSS!  BJ & Dub both think a guy should never do that at a buddy’s place, while the rest of us think he just has to be better at cleaning up his “shampoo.”

I’m getting old.  I tend to get sore over the dumbest stuff, and when it rains…it only gets worse.  My arm is sore from throwing the ball in the Foul Balls game last week…and this morning my back hurts because I took a bad spill while walking to the Radio Station.  I walked over the yellow painted part of the curb…it was raining so lesson learned…rain covered  painted concrete is slippery.  So I bit it & slammed my back…BJ mentioned that at least no one saw what happened…which wasn’t the case…a guy drove by & must’ve saw it & saw the humor in it because he honked.  I can’t blame him…I would have thought it was funny if it wasn’t me too!

This morning we had an intervention on The Rev…we learned that he drinks massive amounts of coffee.  He drinks 3 giant mugs of coffee…which is probably 10 to 12 cups of coffee…that’s crazy!  Look at him!!!!!

Why does Rev do this?  He says that is how he gets through the morning…this led to us taking calls from people & the things they do to get through the day:

Frank – Plays music (this guy rules…great caller…played the piano on air for us).

Kyle –Drinks 5 Hour Energy Power Shot Drinks, and then Energy Drinks.

Speaking of Frank…we got this email about him:

Dude, that piano guy frank...kinda weird...but he just made me get through the morning today. I am bored as hell at work, and his whole attitude and piano riff just got me awake and ready to go. Thought I would let you know. Love the show.

Huge thanks to Rebecca Hale & the Seattle Mariners organization. They did something awesome to make a listener of ours happy about something that happened to him. This morning we chatted with Steve, a fan of the show, that was at the M’s game on Friday & sent us this email:

On August the Seventh, I attended the Seattle Mariners game while the Tampa Bay Rays were in town. I was pretty excited being as the Rays were the defending A.L. Champs and we had Felix on the mound. Apparently, the game ended in a walk-off home run, but I didn't find out until well after the game because I had been ejected from Safeco Feild. Why, I'm sure your asking, well I'm asking myself the same question. It started with Griffey at the plate to lead off the seventh, I was sitting in the front row in right feild, he crushed the first pitch over the wall and it landed right in front of me. There is about a five or six foot gap between the rail in front of our seats and the wall itself, so when it landed I had Ken Griffey Jr.'s 623rd homerun ball laying at my feet. I hopped the rail and picked it up, jumped back in my seat and began to celebrate, and by celebrate I mean totally freak out because I held in my hand what could quite possibly be the final homerun of my childhood hero. After screaming and taking pics I noticed about four Safeco security gaurds and a few Seattle P.D. officers sprinting towards us. I handed the ball to my buddy and he passed it down the line until it got to the girl at the end of the row and she set the ball in her purse.  They pulled me to the top of the stairs and asked me for the ball, I told them I didn't have it and they DEMANDED it, so I told them to search me. Then two of the police officers asked for my ticket stub, took it and said....come with us, I asked why and they said I'd come or I'd be taken away in handcuffs. So they booted me out....I called my buddy and he proceeded to inform me that the SPD had searched our whole row, found it in the girls purse and took it . So there I was.....I had just had a peice of baseball history in my hand and was on the absolute top of the world.....It was the craziest, most exzhilrating, happiest(minus the birth off my son) moment of my life, then nearly intantly I was standing outside in the cold outside of Safeco Feild without anything. I've been e-mailed one pic so far and watched the highlight on the FSN replay, and even Mike Blowers said "one lucky fans got a souviner." Joke's on him..........or is it on me.  Thanks for giving a shit because everyone I know is sick of hearing about it, because its all I've thought about for the last few days....my stomach is in knots and I can't count the hours of sleep I've lost.

Here  is a pic of Steve at the game:

So while we had Steve on the show, we had Rebecca on & she felt that the security could have been more thoughtful, although in the future…out of safety, no one should hop the rail to get the ball.  Rebecca actually got the ball authenticated, and wants to give the guy the ball to make good…WOW…how cool is that!!!!!!!!!!!!  Props to Rebecca & the M’s!!!!!

Today’s Video Blog is all about Double R during one of his “crickets” moment!
