Day 801 (08/18/09) Thanks Slipknot!

Day 801 (08/18/09) Thanks Slipknot!

The morning started off with us debating the cost of Double R’s fancy shirt.  It’s so funny…if anyone comes in the room wearing something somewhat fashionable, the rest of the show goofs on them for it.  We all placed bests on how much this shirt cost…oddly enough the name of the brand of the shirt is “Jack Nut”  haha:

The Rev guessed 50 bucks, BJ said 60 bucks, Toppy said “28.99 Bob,” and I guessed 35 (with tax included).  The final answer was 29.99 (tax not included)…Toppy was off by a buck, and we aren’t sure if I am closer since it was too early in the morning to do math.

This morning we talked about this story as it blew our minds!!!!!

A recent survey found that FOUR in FIVE women with online dating profiles say they've seriously considered becoming a single mom, either through adoption or by visiting a sperm bank.  And nearly THREE in FOUR women with online dating profiles say they've thought about asking a male friend to knock them up . . . with "no strings attached".  (PR Newswire)

Big thanks to Jonny Fairplay for joining us…he is at Jazzbones in Tacoma tonight.  Jonny is known for his infamous “my grandma died” speech during the Survivor TV show, and since then he has been all over celebrity/reality shows.  What I thought was interesting was that before Survivor, he was Rowdy Roddy Piper’s assistant…how cool is that!  Check Jonny out on Twitter:  www.twitter.com/jonnyfairplay  We learned that he is married to a chick from America’s Next Top Model – Michelle (from Season 4), and they bring other girls into the mix…and Jonny said she is meaner to the girls than him…when I asked if ball gags are put in the mix…he said “no comment” with a very devious giggle.  Here is a pic of the happy ball gag loving couple:

The morning ended with a emotional call from a fan of the show.  We talked to Scott, who a few weeks ago had to deal with the horrible news that his 13 year old son Trenten died while swimming at Wildcat Lake during one of those 100 degree days.  Read the news story here:

Both Scott &  Trenten listened to our show & station religiously, and Trenten’s favorite band was Slipknot.  They were planning to go to Pain In The Grass together, and Scott emailed us saying that  “the last time I talked to him he was so jazzed cause he just bought a Slipknot shirt -- his favorite band. He was so excited for Pain In The Grass this year.”  In the email he also wrote: “ I would like to see if there would be anyway to meet the band and have them sign something so I could put it at his grave.”  Scott had Trenten cremated in his Slipknot shirt, and instead of putting him an Urn…they are putting him in a X-BOX because he loved to play video games.  Huge thanks to Slipknot, as we sent them the email, and they agreed to meet Scott at Pain In The Grass & sign some stuff for Trenten.  We had Shawn Crahan,  AKA Clown from Slipknot to thank him for doing this.  Ugh…my heart goes out to Scott. Two accounts have been established to help Trenten’s family. Donations can be made at any branch of US Bank or Kitsap Credit Union, under the name “Trenten Morris Fund.”

Today’s video blog features us getting some food, and the Rev went into a diabetes rage.
