Today started off talking about 9/11…it’s been 8 years since that devastating day, and we had an interesting chat with a man that was there…seriously there. Tom Haddad was on the 89th Floor of Tower 1 of the World Trade Center when the first plane hit 2 stories above his head. Tom put his story into words, and it is featured in a new book by Damon DeMarco called “Tower Stories – An Oral History of 9/11.” We had both Tom & Damon on the show, and the book is interesting…Damon aggregated stories from people that were affected by what happened 8 years ago…from firefighters, cops, medics, survivors etc….the book is a fascinating read.
Huge thanks to Kimbo Slice for joining us this morning. Kimbo is the dude that became a web sensation due to his backyard fist fights…especially the one where he hit a dude so hard that his eyeball popped out. Check this classic clip out:
We asked him what he said to the guy who lost the eye, and he said “You should get that checked out.” Kimbo was an awesome interview…he even dropped an “F” bomb in the middle of the interview when he was talking about wanting to knock certain UFC fighters the “F” out. Back in the day, he was a bouncer at a Strip Club…I asked him what was the craziest thing he saw while working there…to which he said “A Bottle”…Double R asked about that statement…wondering if what he meant by that was that someone hit him with a bottle…to which he said: “No, the bottle disappeared. “ Wow!
Today we were surprised with a phone call from Eli Roth – aka The Bear Jew from Inglourious Basterds. I was trying to get him on the show, but never heard if we were going to have him on, but we got a call this morning from Eli & chatting with him. What a great interview…Eli has one of the greatest scenes of all time in the movie…I don’t need to describe it, if you have seen the movie you know the exact scene I am talking about!
