Happy Birthday to Mono-Nick…he is 30 today, and he made a big announcement... he’s quitting smoking…cigarettes…today! I give him 2 days until the stress of being BJ’s assistant gets to him & he starts smoking again!
Bummer to find out that Patrick Swayze died yesterday…He was 57 years old…Swayze revealed back in March of 2008 that he was battling pancreatic cancer, which is one of the deadliest forms of the disease. I would have to say my favorite Swayze moment was an SNL bit that he did with Chris Farley, where the 2 of them were Chip N Dales Dancers. he was great in Point Break, Youngblood, and plenty of other films as well. I. like an idiot that I am...tried to pay tribute to Patrick Swayze by watching one of his films...so I popped in Miracle yesterday & realized when the opening credits started that this film starred Kurt Russell, not Patrick Swayze. I kept watching it though (it's too good of a movie to stop watching), and pretended that Swayze played coach Herb Brooks for the 1980 US Olympic Hockey Team. "Nobody puts Eruzione in the corner!"
Being that Patrick died at such a young age. This led to a discussion about if you would rather live a long life until 80’ish…or would you rather live an amazing life of fame & fortune like Swayze, and die at 60. Double R was the only one that picked living until you are 80. I did have stipulations to my decision...I can't die a slow painful death, and I can't have Swayze's old school hair style.
Patrick’s death did seem to trump everyone’s status updates about Kanye being a douche…and Steve emailed us a pic he came across online…yes it’s wrong, but is very funny!!!!
Speaking of VMA’s…I watched it last night, Lady GaGa freaks me out! Her performance was strange, and based on the “penis” allegations…never before have I spent 4 minutes staring at someone’s crotch…maybe at times my eyes were playing tricks on me, but I think I saw a slight buldge towards the end. While I am talking about the end...be sure to watch towards the end...she starts fake bleeding...no, not there...although that would have been a funny way for her to proclaim that she has woman parts!
Thanks to Howie Mandel for joining us this morning…he is the host of Deal Or No Deal, the new season of the half hour syndicated version of the show is on now…check it out weeknights at 7:00 & 7:30 PM on CW 11. Howie was hilarious…he goofed on Double R for sounding like a stoner & goofed on me because I find great pleasure in watching people fail miserably while trying to win as much money as possible. Howie also bought the rights to the game “Would You Rather?” & is turning it into a TV show…I asked him for a good Would You rather question, and he asked “Would you rather sit in a room & watch porn with your parents, or watch a porn starring your parents?”
