Wow…last night was amazing…Pearl Jam played at the Key Arena last night, and I have seen Pearl Jam a handful of times in my life…and last night didn’t disappoint. Wow. That’s all I can say…wow. Pearl Jam is truly one of the best live bands ever, and last night they played a good mix of old & new. …I think they played 5 or 6 songs off of their new CD “Backspacer.” Speaking of which…”Backspacer” is a great CD, the disc has a positive vibe to it, and just like the new Alice In Chains CD…it gets better with each listen. Check out the song Unthought Known, it’s such a great track…hell, here is a video of them playing it online last night…..
The songs sound great on CD, but live…they sound even more amazing…especially the songs off the last 2 CD’s! Plus, it was so cool to hear the older stuff…songs like Even Flow, Indifference, Elderly Woman, Alive, Better Man, Do The Evolution, Given To Fly, Rear View Mirror, Corduroy, etc…the songs sounded so great, and the crowd was so loud singing along. That being said…can we establish a code of conduct at the show…if you don’t know the lyrics of a song…don’t try singing the song at the top of your lungs. There was a guy behind us that was trying to sing along to Even Flow…it was horrible, he was mumbling loudly…basically sounding like Adam Sandler doing a bad impression of Eddie Vedder. Eddie Vedder was having a great time on stage…drinking wine, and cracking jokes too. At one point we thought he was going to get political, as he wanted to talk about Obama, and discuss something that Obama has talked about recently:
Speaking of political…Eddie did take a moment to talk some local politics…bringing up that he took a call from Nirvana bassist Krist Noveselic right before going into Indifference:
The set was rather emotional…I was talking to Mono-Nick about this earlier this morning, and mentioned how some of the songs hit me emotionally…if fact I had to fight back some tears during their show closer “Alive” – the passion with how they were playing it, and the lyrics, etc…it just caught me last night. Here they are playing Alive last night (gotta love You Tube & cell phones with a Video Camera on them):
Turns out Mono-Nick was hit emotionally as well… on songs like Alive, Elderly Woman, and this one…Better Man:
What I especially loved about the show…is how those guys still look like they love playing music together. A few points during the show Mike McCready, Stone Gossard, and Jeff Ament all faced each other and rocked out…you can tell that was a moment for them, it didn’t matter if there was 15,000 fans or 15 fans…these guys obviously love playing together…watching them makes ya want to play music…not for the adoration of fans, but because it feels good to create something (music) with friends.
If you are able to make it to the show tonight…go by all means!!! Here is last nights set list.

HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WHY DOGS EAT THEIR OWN POOP???
Here are six bizarre dog behaviors that can be explained by EVOLUTION.
1. Eating their own poop: Back when dogs were wild, predators would use the scent of droppings to track down a dog's den. So, in order to protect their puppies, mother dogs started cleaning up the evidence by eating the waste left by their offspring.
2. Sniffing each other's butts: A dog's sense of smell is about 100,000 times better than a human's, and each dog secretes its own unique scent through glands in its no-go hole.
--Anyway, by sniffing another dog's backside, a dog can tell everything it needs to know . . . like the other dog's sex, how healthy it is, what it eats, and even its mood.
3. Turning around before sitting: Before dogs were domesticated, they would twirl around a few times before lying down in order to flatten any tall grass.
--Turning around a few times also served the purpose of making an area more comfortable by exposing a cooler layer of dirt, and was a great way of scouring the underbrush for unfriendly creatures like snakes.
4. Licking: In the dog world, licking serves several different purposes. For example, while humans rub or scratch at sore or itchy spots, dogs lick at them.
--And for dogs, licking can also be a submissive gesture. So when your dog licks you, it's not because he loves you and wants to give you "doggy kisses," but because he knows you could probably kill him if you chose to.
5. Wagging their tails: When a dog wags its tail, it isn't necessarily a sign that it's happy. In fact, the position of the tail matters a lot more than the wagging itself.
--For example, if a dog's tail is held low and in the shape of a "U", it's probably a sign that the dog is content. But if the tail is raised and wagging frantically, it's a sign that the dog is upset.
--In other words, tail-wagging is a primitive form of communication.
6. Humping your leg: Dogs use humping to establish dominance over other animals. So when a dog humps your leg, it's not necessarily because he's horny, it's because he's trying to show you who's boss.
