So I am not here today, in CT for my Uncle's funeral...once again...thanks so much for all of the emails. You have no idea how appreciative I am for all the kind word. Thank You.
I'm sitting at my brothers house, and it's so nice to see my niece's and nephew...these kids are hilarious...so far I have read them books about Clifford, a PRINCESS, AND OTHER STUFF...LOT'S OF BOOKS ABOUT FARM ANIMALS...COWS, PIGS, ETC. Crap...stupid laptop, I hit the caps lock on accident. I'm really not reading...it's more like we are looking at the pictures & making animal sounds.
It's strange not being there while the show is on air...this is the first time I have not been on when we are live...except for that one 6 AM hour where I overslept because of the late night driving home from the Hawks game a few years ago with the icey roads.
I do have to say HULU.com is awesome. I watched a bunch of wrestling last night, as my laptop served as my TV while in bed.
I guess Mono-Nick is filling in for me for news while I'm gone. Could he be the Lou Gehrig of newscasters??? All I know is I can't wait to hear how he did.
This morning, based on BJ's Twitter page...a guy was pissed at BJ because he referred to LL Cool J as "boy." saying it's a racist term...sometimes I wonder if people are over-reacting and act like the "racist-police" -- I don't think what BJ said was racist at all...damn, I wish I was there for that chat.
So yesterday Toppy dropped me off at the airport at 11 am PST...by the time I landed in Providence Rhode Island, it was 1:30 AM EST...nearly a 12 hour day of flying. The flight was brutal...sat bitch between a fat dude and a lady that smelled like month old chinese food. I tried falling asleep, but that was impossible...so I played checkers on my Zune & finished my book. the book was Eric Bishoff's autobiography about his time running WCW....a great read.
Huge thanks to Craig Terrill of the Hawks for joining us this morning. Craig called in to chat about his upcoming Monday Night Football party on Monday at Nectar. Craig will be performing, and hanging out...get tix at www.nectarlounge.com .
This morning Double R and Topshelf gave their review of Alice In Chains...since I wasn't there to chat about it, I thought I would show ya some of the pix I took while at the show...I was lucky enough to watch the show from the side of the stage...it was so cool to watch how these guys interact. Pick up the new CD -- "Black Gives Way To Blue" -- it's out today, and it's the best album I have heard in a long time...I have listened to it at least 20 times already!!!!!
The show was so damn good. They started off the set with "Rain When I Die" & hit us with a bunch of their best stuff...songs like: Man In the Box, It Ain't like That (my all time fave AIC song), No Excuses, Would?, and ended the night with Rooster...that song still gives me goose bumps when the drums kick in. they played a few new songs, Check My Brain, Looking In View, Acid Bubble, and Black gives Way to Blue. hearing Black Gives Way to Blue was rather powerful, as this is the song about Layne Staley (I think there are a few songs on the CD that are about the late great frontman for the band)...and Jerry came out to start the encore off with that song. it was just him, and an acoustic guitar...and this was the first time he played this song live on the tour...he specifically waited until Seattle to perforom it...as a way to pay tribute to his friend. Honestly, I could watch AIC play every night for a month straight...each time I have seen em' live, they sound better and better. I was never lucky enough to see them back in the day, but this was the 5th time I have seen em since they reformed, and this was the best one yet. Props to William Duvall...his vocals were amazing live.
Here is part 2 of the Alice In Chains interview...apologies for the crappy audio, our recording machine crapped out on us so we had to rely on the camcorder microphone.
