The morning started with us checking in with Double R, as he is doing a “Double R Challenge” where he spends the night homeless with Mono-Nick…when we picked up the phone first thing this morning, you could hear that Double R was hurting…he was freezing cold, and shared with us stories about what it was like last night. Dub posted some Facebook status updated…here are a couple of them:
Today's the day! I've been called out by a homeless guy..."try walking a mile in my shoes!" well tonight I will! I'm going to sleep on the streets of Seattle then panhandle to raise $ for the shelter! Stay tuned to my page for homeless updates! –RR
Dude! This homeless experience has been unbelievable! Sorry for the delay... Just thought I'd lose homeless cred if I busted out an iPhone! Been down by the jungle! Under I90! Dearborn and Rainier! Hood! So far mononick looks shocked!
Made some new friends! With some incredible stories of drugs and violence! Funny how we come to learn lessons in life! I think the key is to absorb the mistakes that others have made!
Climbing into bed in downtown Seattle. It's freezing but at least I'm dry! Gotta get some rest. Hope not to get robbed, killed or urinated on whilst sleeping. Goodnight. Brrrrr!
This morning we talked about an email from a parent who is having issue with her 16 year old daughter because her daughter wants to wear a sexy Halloween costume…this is just crazy…all of agreed with her parent that she shouldn’t let her daughter dress like a skank. Halloween is so strange…women always say, “It’s the one day of the year that we can dress like sluts.” This theory blows my mind…these are probably the same chicks that on any other night when they are out will goof on chicks that dress slutty when in the clubs. We then learned that there are costumes that specifically made for “tweens” & granted I’m no parent, but why would a parent be ok with a 12 year old wearing costumes like this!
That last one kills me…it’s a French maid costume for “tweens”…last I checked, the idea of a “French Maid” is a sexual one…why would you let your 12 year old dress like a French Maid!!!!!
This photo was sent to us by Chad…how disturbing is this…this is Noah Cyrus, Miley’s 9 year old sister…seriously…what is the world coming to? She is 9 going on 21 in this outfit…sick!
Thanks to Gareth Von Kallenbach from Skewed & Reviewed -- www.sknr.net for joining us with a winter movie preview...here is what we talked about:
WINTER MOVIE PREVIEW
"A Christmas Carol" - Nov 6th.
A "Christmas Carol" appears to be visually stunning and artistically complicated. The film stars the ever-animated Jim Carrey as Ebenezer Scrooge, and a variety of other roles, along with a cast including Cary Elwes, Colin Firth, and Gary Oldman. The use of motion capture seems to blur the lines between reality and fiction in a manner not yet seen in feature films. Moreover, the extensive focus on recreating England as it was during Dicken's lifetime makes this not only a film for 3D fans, but one for the history buffs as well. Director Robert Zemeckis is at the helm.
"2012" - Nov. 13th
Director Roland Emmerich who crafted the hits "Stargate" and "Independence Day" has brought an epic look at the end of the world. With John Cusack and Thandie Newton onboard this a must see if only for the lavish visual effects.
"The Twilight Saga; New Moon" - Nov. 20th
Unless you have been living in a cave, you would be hard pressed to not know about this film which is the second in the hugely popular Twilight series. This time out Edward (Robert Pattinson), and Bella (Kristin Stewart), find their forbidden love threatened by new factors. Expect this to be huge.
"The Princess and the Frog" - Dec. 11th
The latest animated offering from Walt Disney features a young girl and her frog set during the Jazz era of New Orleans. The creative talents behind "Aladdin" have returned and the film is said to embrace the old hand drawn methods of animation.
"Avatar" - Dec 18th.
"Titanic" James Cameron returns with this lavish film which tells of a soldier played by Sam Worthington caught in a battle between humans and a planets native populace. The film not only has the lavish Cameron visuals but state of the art 3D techniques that Cameron himself helped create.
"Sherlock Holmes" - Dec 25th Robert Downey Jr. stars with Jude Law in this new take on the classic sleuth. Director Guy Ritchie has mixed humor and action to bring the latest telling of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic character to life. Look for a rumored cameo by Brad Pitt as the future nemesis Moriarty.
Other films of interest...
Peter Jackson spins a tale of a young girl trying to help her family solve her murder from beyond in "The Lovely Bones" Dec 11th.
We got an update from the Rev about "finishing a workout" with his lady friend...if you recall last week we asked the Rev to refrain from "working out" by himself to see if that is what was holding him back from being able to "finish" his "workout" with his lady friend. On saturday, the two of them decided to "work out" & the Rev was able to "finish" his "workout" -- congrats buddy!!!!
